Broken stem on DSN Pam 240

Well the rep gods bestowed on me today a broken stem because I was manually winding my 7750. I opened the case back to try and get the little stem piece out, but when I press the stem release button, the piece won't come out. I didn't want to press too hard and get the button stuck down. Are there any tricks to getting a broken stem out of the movement? Where is the best place to get a replacement in the US (I could use cousinsUK but would prefer CONUS)? Does someone have the correct part number? Thanks, any help is appreciated!

Here's an update:

I removed the rotor to get better access to the stem removal button and the screw fell into the regulator wheel. I used a lens dust blowing bulb to move the regulator wheel so the screw would fall out then when the regulator wheel started moving again, it was making the watch speed out of control. Now when I blow air on the wheel, it advances the watch 15 seconds at a time for each "tick". Did I just FUBAR this movement?

I don't know about FUBAR'ing you movement, but you can get a stem from Gary Clark at Clark watch parts on eBay. User name is Nostalgia2000. $8 + shipping.

Thanks KBH, I picked up the replacement stem on ebay. I guess I'll know in a few days if the movement is FUBAR.

What!?! First my rotor falls apart, and now I'm not suppose to manually wind my movement? I thought Asian movements where getting better, not worse.

Seriously though, is this a suggested practice? If so, why?

I had the rotor problem too after I dropped it. I opened up the back and it snapped into place. A7750's in general aren't meant to be hand wound as it stresses the gears and can strip them. If you do wind them, you're not supposed to do more than one revolution per second and that helps reduce wear.

I bought my PAM 240 used so I'm not sure how the previous owner took care of it so I can't speak for the life of the winding stem.

i wind my mine just like i do mine and my wife's gen rolex's and have never had any problem. the only movements i have had any problem winding is the swiss eta. one of mine and 2 of my wife's have failed. mine was one of the winding gears stripped and both of my wife's were the crown spring, stem failed. i am waiting on 2 crowns and stems as we speak.
