Breitling Super Avenger (project)

im at the finnishing line with a project i never imagined would become so extensive or expensive, i started my hunt for a Super Avenger in 2016 when i first got in to watches, i know its over 39mm and often spoken of as a monster of a watch but i feel like it really fits my wrist.

when its done the parts break down will look like this:

Gen parts:

Gen mid case
Gen bezel
Gen dial
Gen hands
ETA7750 w Gen rotor (serviced + calibrated)
Gen crown
Gen pro 2 steel bracelet

Rep or aftermarket parts:

Proof X-tal 2x AR
case back from H-Factory v2
pushers H-Fac v2

This build has been alot of work and started life in China as a H-Fac SA v2, it got to the EU
where one of the members here fitted it with a Gen dial + hands and a ETA7750 then it was sent to me,
it came here with a broken crown..

so i sent it to finnland for a Gen crown and calibration of the ETA7750 so now it runs perfect! i then ordered a gen midcase it had PVD coating as it came off a 1/2000
limited edition Super Avenger so that cost me $100 to have removed.. its basically impossible to get a case for these so i improvised and ruined the day of some guy who would like to build a PVD SA franken

i also got a Gen bezel to complete the hyper franken!
i upted for a Proof-Xtal since the 2xAR will really bring out the amazing reverse panda dial, it is not yet put together but i will provide pictures when its all done!


all parts before its sent out for polish and assembly,
id rather not talk about the cost of this build as it has
become a money pit, its hard to find parts for these but a member here tested fitting the case-back from the H-Fac on a Gen and it fit!

if it had not fit this build would become a Gen as i found a case-back for $350 (insane price)

It's surely going to be a great piece.
One thing baffles me though... Was that pvd case the really the best option? I mean, it must have been expensive and I can imagine someone who's looking for a pvd case is now going out of his mind. Hahaha

TBK yes, there was no other option at the time.. im in the prosses of getting a regular midcase right now but that is going on a other pice im working on.
​​​​​​the price is what it is, if i wanted to go the eazy route id get a Gen second hand for less than what this build will come to but i feel like its better to have a franken that is in 100% condition for slightly more than a used one in unknown condition that might need a $800 once-over by breitling to be 100% plus there is a story behind mine and alot of hours of sorceing parts and reading up on specs of parts, im kinda bummed over how poor the SA reps are
they have so few parts that are 1:1 that its insane to say any of the breitlings are a 1:1 cause almost none of them even have the right assembly for the bezel nor do they share dimensions..

Wow, there's a lot of money invested there, I can relate to that!
By polishing the gen sandblasted case, you'll have to ensure that the person polishing will not go too heavy on it... As the edges of the case and features will get over softened. I've made that mistake myself and the watch could look like a well used one!

i have a great watchmaker doing the job, also i had a professional do the bead blasting, i saw him blow the ink text off a sigarette without doing damage to the paper it was on so its not miss shaped from the beads

Importr and if it ends up triggering my ocd i just ordered 3x midcases that are polished, i just pulled the trigger cause i figured when will i ever stumble over the opportunity to get one again and i defently wont ever find three of them.
