Does anyone know where to get a decent box and good papers, including the info booklet/manual and serial numbered cards/papers for the Superocean Steelfish (particularly the Swiss version from TWP, but I suppose any version will do). Basically everything the gen would come with.

Thanks!

Why would you need the serial numbered cards/papers for a rep ???

For display purposes. Thought it would look neat.

Most dealers can get them for you. All the boxes come from the same factory, and there is only one type of box and papers. Box is OK.

All the SFSO's run the same serial. You will receive some papers and you'd have to write the serial in yourself. You'd also have to write a AD's contact info and forge his signature. Booklet/manual is a good replica of the original booklet/manual... back in 2001 for Navitimer. Not to mention there is a spelling mistake every paragraph. And it's the cheap paper you find at office depot, not the glossy fancy one you'd expect.

In conclusion, just buy the box and skip the papers. Papers will be good tell-tale of its authenticity (clearly a rep).

By the way, even a noob like me who've yet to even see the SFSO in real life can tell a rep from gen. Now imagine what collectors are capable of

Man, that'd be dangerous... if papers could be made out to individually serial-numbered reps, especially one as good as the SFSO, you'd have a really hard time telling it from the gen. Maybe the papers are already available, and I"m oblivious, but most of me hopes it isn't available.

I've noticed my eyesight getting worse, year by year; maybe that's why I'd have a hard time telling the rep SFSO from the gen.... I hope that's why, but I'm afraid it might be because the rep is awfully damned good...

It does appear that boxes and papers could be had...
I can't imagine any good use for them, but I can see where they would be VERY useful in defrauding someone who's unaware of the high quality of the replica market

That'd be pretty f'd up

Oh yeah, subseeker, you already said that. You were way to subtle for me (and maybe for others, too?)

I need to be hit over the head by a hammer...

Now I will have to keep an evil eye out on the bay for a SFSO rep

Oh sorry you guys got me wrong I just thought it would be neat to have rep papers as well, I would never push my SFSO off as legit. Thats not why I wanted the box/papers. Plus, I like this thing way too much to sell it! :)

Yeah I was just joking, I'm sure most of us were, too ;) ;)

It is real nice having the box, but the box usually runs $50 or more...

Hey guys... what's wrong with the boxes and accessories? They often help to create really nice photograph setups. Not everyone who buys these want to scam.

Boxes, accessories, they're all great. Papers with matching serial numbers is going too far for me. That's not to say anyone is wanting these things with any bad intent, but it sure would make it easier to pull a fast one.

Heck, these reps are close enough to the real thing without getting papers with serial numbers. There's already too many scammers selling these reps on ebay, if they got their hands on legit looking papers...

We'd never be able to be sure about buying a gen that's been well rep'd, except at full price through an AD, no?

No I totally agree, which is why I've avoided considering buying a gen on ebay. Do you guys really put bids on claimed gens just based on pics on ebay? I've always avoided that thought, but then again the only other option is full price at an AD?
