Dear members,

i have decided to sell my gen Breitling Montbrillant, it’s a 2008 model. It’s been heavily worn but the manual movement runs strong. I have no clue what to ask for it, any pro’s have any idea of a reasonable asking price?

I'd say it's probably worth about $250 so let's go ahead and set up a reserved sale...:hehehe:

Have a Gen Montbrillant myself, yours looks lovely & certainly well worn/enjoyed, the way all watches should be.

I'd say chrono24/watchuseek etc are probably your best bet for gauging the current market price and knock money off for fees etc, but it's all about what you're prepared to let it go for and what the buyer is prepared to pay.
Also has there been any Montbrillants sold on here before?

Comparing yours to them would give you a ballpark estimate.

No point setting it at 1 or 2 or 5 or 10k , if buyers wont touch it at that price, because of provenance, accompanying documentation, box etc.

Best of luck

Have a 2010 Datora (A21330) on SS bracelet & will throw a picture up next week when in the office if you want.

Out of curiosity, if you want to PM the price you have in your head, I can say if it's far off what I would've put it at.
I can also let you know what I paid for mine in a local sale here in Ireland, if you want that is.

Stay safe

Has it ever been sent in for service? I finally sent in my chronomat evolution, purchased in 2009. It needed a main spring and one other part. Even though it still functioned...... Also needed a polishing. Yours looks like it could definitely use a polishing. Unless you're really famous, (Paul Newman's Daytona ;)) polishing won't decrease the value. So, it may improve your resale. I didn't send mine to Breitling, but a very good authorized repair place. Still a bit pricy though. $760 plus the shipping.

Thats a good point actually.

I remember a service on another Breitling of mine was approx €450, so worth factoring into the price too if never done.

Breitling prices vary a lot, they are quite expensive and sought after in Germany and UK and some other counties and half price or even cheaper of that in the Middle East
