Well,

It looks like Andreww has done such a fine job reviewing the TI Chrono Avenger that i cannot compete. So instead i will just post some quick picts of my recent aquisition. It appears i have commited one of many deadly sins and purchased the quartz version of this watch  . The Avenger is not my normal sleek choice in watches and actually appears very chunky on my wrist but..... this watch looked so nice in print,i just had to see what all the fuss was about. I figured the quartz version wouldnt be too much of a risk and getting a sweet price of less than 100$usd i couldnt pass at the chance. Anyway on with the picts. Anyone know if the asian 7750 and a new dial would drop right in? this is the 44mm version in brushed stainless steel

Nice one ! :D

I prefer 100 times a quartz chrono to a faux-chrono, so your choice is a good choice, as a watch.
Most reps exist in quartz versions, but we rarely see tem around. Maybe there's less demand. Or less dealers interested in...? Some say "no soul", my answer is that I prefer this to a bad movement. And it does not mean I don't like mechanical movements. Just, quartz is sometimes the right (and cheaper alternative).

On the cheaper models, the finishing is often worse, but there are exceptions. (I'm looking for a quartz Navitimer, but so far I did not find a well finished one, at least in my standards.)
How about your chrono avenger ? And how's the caseback ?

Pix,

I believe the case and caseback are identical to the more popular and expensive Asian 7750 version (stainless steel of course). The case material and finish are ctually very good. I have several cheap asian autos in stainless and this one far exceed them in overal finish and quality. In fact if i could just find a replacement stainless steel braceletto fit i would be a happy camper. The band that came with the watch had a sendary quartz dial on it i believe referred to as UTP UPT hell i dont know. What i do know is i didnt like it and replaced it with the one you see a pseudo carbon fiber pattern blue ! ant tips for a replacement bracelet?

There are some for sales from time to time on the boards.
Between 30 and 40 dollars as far as I can remmeber (I mean SFSO bracelets >> you should check if it is 22 mm width).

Why don't you try a Breitling black smooth leather strap, whith white stitching ? You can get them for 15 dollars + shipment from Ruby.

Cool. Never seen a quartz version of this before. The case quality seems to be on par with the expensive 7750.

Can you post a pic where the stopwatch is resetted. Thanks man.

Nice watch! I 100% agree that quartz is better than automatic with faux chronos. Thats a very reliable, good looking piece. Thanks for sharing it with us!

I paid $200 for one of these when I was a noob :?

Thought I was buying a 7750 version, they are actually a nice watch, the uncovered eight on the dial and and quartz tick at six subdial are the only real givaways.

I felt a real mug after that deal but have grown to love the watch, just not the price I paid

:D

As hyster said the watch actually does tick like a good ol quartz with the seconds subdial at 6. Would be nice to source a new dial and asian 7750 to drop in as i love the sweep, but hate resetting evey other day due to power reserve runout !
