I'll start with the most obvious: the watch currently is not working.
Full disclosure: last year when I tried to wind the watch (it's a handwound tourby movement) the stem of the crown broke.
A piece of the stem fell out (see pics) but I have no way of knowing if the rest is still inside or not. I tried to remove the movement from the case but I saw no way to do this.
Maybe it's a frontloader?
After that the watch was pretty useless because I couldn't wind it and I couldn't set the time anymore. I then decided to put it on display in my study since it's such a rare and pretty piece and my dreamwatch. To that end I glued the crown (using superglue) back in its place and placed the watch on a stand.
Later I realised there was perhaps another way to still wear it. At the hour the hands on the watch were indicating I removed the caseback and pressed down my finger on the spring barrel while turning my finger. This way I was able to wind the spring and still could wear it once in a while.
After a few times doing this however the watch now refuses to run. I probably pressed down a bit to hard and blocked the tourbillon cage from freely turning, because when I gingerly try to lift the backplate a little it starts moving again.
I'm obviously out of my depth here with my limited watchmaker skills, but it occured to me that maybe some members here may have (access to) the necessary skills and see this as an interesting project. Or maybe someone would just like this to have as a desktop ornament.
To conclude, in my opinion buyers should be aware that a) the glued-on crown should be removed and a new, fitting stem be installed, and b) the tourbillon cage should be freed from its blockage. Of course this is reflected in the asking price.

Finally, the watch in better times...
