Breathing new life to a Panerai 194 Submersible

I've always love the older 47mm Panerai Submersible models (194, 202, 225, etc.) moreso than the newer models. So i scoured the repworld for a 194 and luckily found one. When i got her she was not working, damaged and in need of a restoration... So i will let the pictures do the talking below...
Special thanks to Strodda for his great work on this project!!

When i first received her.. cracked crystal, bad date wheel, faded looking dial, movement not working, etc..

Since the newer 285 model came out i was lucky to score one from a good friend to start the project. Lucky for me the 285 was already in the US and no need to wait for one from one of our TDs

Sent both pieces off to Strodda along with multiple pictures of the Gen 194 and asked him do his magic...

After multiple applications of lume on the dial, hands and pearl relume, movement service of the new 285 movement, completely recasing it using the 285 caseset and waterproofing.. I finally got her back and to me.. She's a beauty and perfect!!

Strapped her onto a discontinued Simona Mosaic Gold strap..

Bonus pic with the older submersible siblings..the restored 194, Custom PVD'd 187 (soon to be franken with my gen dial and hands), Pam 225 Slytech, and Pam 202 Franken Slytech

Hope you enjoyed the post... thanks for checking it out!

Ya know, its nice getting an outside perspective on that build. Even though I did the work, seeing pics taken by you and on your wrist... if I didnt know, I would think it was a franken. Really happy with how the dial turned out and that you like it. Enjoy sir! :)

Everytime I see your subs, I really wish I could get them (well, not them them but the same models). Still trying to though... :D

Wow!!! It really came out beautifully! Congrats! ;-)
(Particularly like the 15 minute markers on the bezel better than anything out there now.

Has definitely become my most favorite! So light and comfy but still a 47mm! Taking up wrist time 90% of the time as of late!
