Brand new PAM with issue

Hey ya'll

Just received a brand new PAM from a TD.

on Monday I noticed that it wound without issues but it felt like it wasn't "catching" when I pulled the crown out to set the time.... how ever after a few tries it worked... not sure what the problem was.

Tonight I tried the same thing and again it wound without issue, but this time I can't set the time at all. Again it doesn't "catch" when you pull the crown out to set the time.

I'm assuming I'm not doing anything wrong, but it could be wrong.

Any ideas before I either 1) send it back and get a new one (and paying $75 for EMS shipping or 2) Just get my watchsmith to fix it

P.S. It's a 6497 manual handwind movement. Highbeat 21600bph

prolly keyless issues.. should be cheap to fix.

I had a movement that stopped a week in on a H-Maker 061 copy refused to restart so went back for repair, not ideal but at least it will be fixed at the TD's cost

Sending stuff back to China really should be the last option. A watchsmith could have this decased and fixed in 20 minutes if it's just a keyless issue.

That's how I saw it too. I chose to fix it local and is running great. They should really get it right the first time and I'd prefer not to give them another 'shot' at it. Cost is the issue. But you get speed in return and perhaps more certainty.
