Hello everybody, I just received another v1 BPFF (sold my first one a while ago and had to have another one) and before I start wearing this thing regularly, I want to Loctite the lug screws, but I can't remember what size bits I need to source from a local hobby shop. Can anybody chime in? I thought they were T5, and I have a T5 bit but it will not fit two of the hex screws. (It's almost like there are 2 different sizes)

Thanks in advance.

Well, I guess if you can't change the strap then you will just have it sell it to me...
Kidding aside (though would be interested if u are selling) the V1 takes a T3 and the V2 takes a T4.
How do I know? I've read the thread and everyone was saying T3 initially, but I got a V2, and the T3 was too small.
I highly recommend the Bonetto Cinturini 24mm diver's strap ($28) too.

No way I am selling this thing anytime soon, I sold my V1 about six months ago and regret it to this day. I am 99% sure this is also the V1 but my T4 fits, I tried T3 and I believe it was too small. I will try T3 again when I get home.

For reference, how can I tell if I have a V1 or not? I have it on my wrist right now so I can take any photo that I need to for someone to determine. Thank You.

Yours looks like a v1 with the smaller fonts on bezel and the more greenish numeral color on bezel.
For the T3 driver, the Wiha ones from Amazon I have found to work best on my lug screws.

Grats, it's a v1. Can tell from the skinny 5 fonts and yellow color. The screws should be t3 or t4, it varies.

Nice V1, I was looking for one these two last months... It seemed to be impossible and finally I took one v2 which I think is really accurate and it has not too fat bezel numbers (also with that "greeny" colour). But I had to search a lot... I am waiting for it... This watch is a super rep and one of the nicest ever made IMO.

For the record, 3 of the screws in mine are T4 and one is T3

Loctite done. Now I can wear it without any worries.

+1 The screws in my v1 are also a mix of T3 and T4... which is exactly, for an antsy strap changer like me, why I pulled the darned things and installed beefy Seiko spring bars. Life is so much easier now and my FF gets to experience multiple personalities w a wide variety of straps.

That is not a bad idea. Where did you source the beefy spring bars?

Did somebody try curved 23 mm spring bars?? Maybe if those fits well it could open the range of straps and bands. Could be possible fiting with those curved spring bars a 24 mm strap?

FWIW, the 22mm spring bars for a 40mm Pan fit much tighter/better than the fat Zulu Seiko bars:

http://stores.ebay.com/WHOLESALEOUT...+40mm+custom+spring+bars&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=

Also, I and a number of others have found that 24mm straps slip into the BPFF like they were made for the watch. I have a SS V1 and a RG V2 with the Pam spring bars and 24mm straps. Both the bars and straps fit great.

The hex screws in the V1 and V2 can be either T3 or T4 and even these fit "loose" enough to damage the hex heads. This is why I've taken mine out and saved them in the event I ever sell either watch.
