Hi guys and hope everyone is well. Got this old BP Navitimer World that I bought new from Ryan years ago when in circulation at the time and only wore once when I got it but also bought the black dial version which I sold sometime ago . This particular one stayed in the box but I would wind it here and there to let the gears move a bit but still never wore it. It’s a nice piece and decided to see if there is anything that I can do to mod it? I guess I can’t get past the slight smaller date window ( also slightly recessed ) . This is a very rare piece and really don’t want to let it go. Any suggestions ?

It is possible to elevate a datewheel overlay with spacers if in fact you have an overlay. Sometimes the numbers are printed right onto the datewheel. Yours is not nearly as recessed as the ones with a 3 o'clock subdial and this involves a bit of work to accomplish so I would probably live with it because of the date window size anyway.

If is also possible to enlarge a date window to fit a frame there - I just did one but on your dial there is so little space before you run into text and the hour marker that I wouldn't risk it. With this type of mod it's easy to ruin a dial in the attempt. It wouldn't be gen-like for your model either but it is a way to address the issue.

Hi KJ and good morning over here. Appreciate the response from you and thanks. When looking at this watch in person the date wheel is kinda small versus the original but living with it from your perspective I understand , quick question? The rotor on this watch is super noisy and I know that these Asian movements are notorious for this , is there any way I can get this done or maybe swap the movement if possible? Your take?

Bro the 7750 only autowind in one direction of rotor travel. So in the non-winding direction there is no resistance on its travel from the gears. This allows it to fly rapidly which is what makes the noise.

You'll see posts about "silencing a rotor". Often this is accomplished by using an unprescribed heavy oil or (worse) grease on the rotor bearings. The silencing this produces is at the expense of the rotor operating normally. It slows the rotor down and in some cases can make it not rotate at all.

The service manual calls for a "very small quantity" of Moebius 9010, which is thin oil. Doing this will not make a rep 7750 rotor quieter at all. A thicker oil like HP1300 will help a little but usually not enough to make it quiet. Personally I would not use grease on a rotor, it's contraindicated in purpose and it will spread to other movement parts.

Another rep 7750 would not likely be any better regarding the rotor. That model rep should take a gen movement if you wanted to go that far. Its subdials are all in the native positions, no extra gearscorctransfer plates, etc. were used to swap subdials around. But you still have the date window issue.

You could always just remove the rotor and make it a self wind. Not convenient if worn daily but you have to pick your poison.
