Well I'm sort of a noob about reps, but with the help of you guys I'm learning fast.

Unfortunatly I bought my fisrt PAM092 from a dealer that wasn't listed on your foums. I paid $229 for a first gen rep with the smaller date font. I've already done my first mod by reattaching and fixing the bezel markers with 2 part epoxy (it's fairly strong now). My real complaint about the whole transaction I got stiff out of a deployment clasps and got the regular buckle. The watch needs the movement adjusted which is the only thing it needs, and I'd like to waterproofed.

Otherwise, good communication from the dealer (then), and fast shippment (ordered 4.17, and recieved 4.23), now he's not returning e-mails.

My question to the group is it worth keeping and get an Ultimate from Andrew or mod the hell out of this one?

congrats on your first pam purchase either way your going to end up spending a bit more. It would probably be cheaper to buy the modded one.

Rep deployant clasps suck, IMO, so don't feel too badly about that one. Plus, all the good aftermarket straps are made for tang buckles, anyway.

Since you've already gone to the trouble of "fixing" the bezel markers, I would just get a datewheel from Lello (member over at RWG.cc) and be done with it. I wouldn't bother with swapping out the cyclops, but that's just me.

Send it off to Ziggy for the datewheel install, relume and service and you should have a rock solid, great looking rep that will give you troublefree use for the next 5 years or so. That's what I would do.
