Hi all,
I have a vsf 116610LN which I am very happy with. but I have one problem, there is a lot of reflection in the cyclops that many have talked about before. blue tint/ blue hue.. my question is, do I have to change the whole crystal or can I just change the cyclobs? it is not visible on picture

Kind regards Q

The more recent gens (2018/19+ or something) also have a blue hue. I wouldn't obsess over it - personally i think the vsf crystal is quite good.

Gen crystals arent all that expensive correct? I think they can be had for less than 300 dollars. Not bad as far as watch parts go

That was the going price for the last few years, but I've seen them increase. The second best is reaching out to @rnrprof for his black hole crystal. I have it on a few of my Rolexes and it's extremely close to gen.

Seems like a great option as well. I do find with this sort of thing that the differences tend to only be apparent when comparing directly to gen. In isolation Im quite confident that VSF crystal looks great. Not trying to discourage pursuing the best but I always have to remind myself of this point when I am grasping to get that extra 0.01% closer to ideal.

Thanks for all the answer’s . I guess i have to swap to gen or proof. I see some people say that the later models have blue hue on the cyclops But i also have read that it is a look out for a rep… so i dont know? It is really blue in some Lightning..

In this thread from post #10 onwards, it's pretty clear that the most recent 116610s have blue tint (ignore the title being about the 126xxx):

And a direct comparison between gen (pic from google) and my vsf (s19 serial):
