Blue Screws & Date Font

Hi,
The inaccuracies of this rep are usually blue screws instead of silver (clear enough) and the date font being incorrect.

I even bought an ETA date wheel with the intent of replacing the rep one....but to be honest comparing them it's quite hard to tell the difference!

Am I missing something or are we being a bit over zealous with the date wheel?
Regards

To be honest the blue screws don't bother me....but once i get it serviced I may as well get them switched to silver and have the other date-wheel put in while I'm at it!

The biggest problem with this rep is the sub dial ring and the counters for the seconds. The gen has 3 counters per second vs 4 on the rep.

I really like that watch but I do agree that the counters for the seconds are a bit of a let down.

The real problem with this Rep is that it lack the arrow at the end of the G on the Tag logo.

Mine is fully modded...

One of my all time fav watches!

Way underrated Rep too.

Edit: oops... Thought we were talking about the 43mm DayDate Version.

I was about to say we're talking about a different watch! But either way the 43mm and the 41 are both beautiful watches, and I agree both are really underrated. I ordered the 41mm today!! Will post pics/video when it arrives!

I changed the screws out completely instead of just brushing.

Might as well Superlume the hands since there isn't much to it.

Mine could also use AR just because the dial is so beautiful. I think it's accurate the way it is though.

I've been looking into a logo mod heavily...

I have seen a few Tags that were different models with the correct logo. Some were dirt cheap. I have been thinking of buying one just for the Tag logo and switching them out. Havnt gotten around to it yet...

that would be hard work. are there any gen dials floating around on the market i wonder?
i thought about the AR but thought I liked it the way it was. will superlume eventually. i did notice the bracelet is less solid than the gen bracelet.. but its not work an extra 380 euro

I don't follow...which counters?

You mean the 43mm Day Date or the 41mm Date version?

I bought this version.

Thanks

41mm. The watch that you have shown looks to actually be fine in terms of the counters. I have circled the counters that are being referred to. The gen tag Carreras all have 3 counters in between each second marker for the chronograph but some of the Rep Carrera watches have 4 instead. First picture is of the Gen and second pic is of the rep from PT. Hope this helps. Pictures taken from the tag website and Puretime.

I got it from ReplicaMake over a year ago (when he was still trusted). Got lucky....had no idea there was an issue with seconds marker on that model.

One of the best watches I have for day to day office use...feels more down to earth than the Pams & Breitlings which I prefer outside work.

Rubber strap is ok for me, bit plasticky/stiff maybe (assuming the gen feels softer), but I bought a cheap leather with red stitch also to try as an alternate.
