I dealt with these unknowns before I even found out about this forum.

and BTW, I read about geektime from this EXACT forum, so that's why I'm asking about the reliability. They don't appear on the TD list, but members seem to have dealt with them regularly. There's a certain amount of risk I think everybody is willing to take if it saves you a significant amount of money. I understand the benefits of dealing with a trusted dealer from this site, I will be looking into that for future purchases.

If geektime is no longer a TD here, then you don’t use him, it’s that simple. It means he fucked up bad and people got ripped off. Not just some noob that didn’t know any better, but straight up intentionally scamming people or outright lying. But, you figure since a bunch of uninitiated 20 year old noobs in a Reddit sub know better? What, bc this forum isn’t new enough to be “legit”?
Do everyone in this forum a favor and either join our ranks or don’t. You’re not going to find some secret unknown slippery way to find the exact same watch from the exact same factory for hundreds less, and prove our methods wrong. It’s just not going to happen. RWI knows more than all other info sources out there combined. Even RWG can’t begin to hold a candle to this forum. Much less some FB seller or Reddit seller.

You know how they determine TD at RepTime ? Someone orders a watch and receive one, that’s it. lol it’s laughable. Here, they have to have made many sales, sales to one of us acting as a noob, verified ID, verified emails, verified addresses, they must donate to RWI on a regular basis watches used in raffles, be willing to replace watches that never arrive or are seized, ensure the accuracy of descriptions of watches, ensure function of watches, etc etc etc. Which sound better to you? PLUS, if they don’t stand up to their responsibilities as TD, RWI steps in on your behalf!

If you’re a gambler, and you don’t care about loosing, I’m sorry I wasted your time. Personally, if I buy a 935 slant nose, I want it for a reason. I won’t accept a 911 with a slant nose kit, and I won’t pay 50% more than a 935 for a lesser car. But that’s me. Maybe you don’t mind somehow, idk.

I've spoken to so many no name wannabe dealers now it isn't even funny. I definitely see a trend in their sales tactics. Most really know nothing more than a few catch phrases... They all say, the watches come with standard China movements, but we install high quality swiss movements into our watches and that's why the prices are higher. That's BS, they might be swiss clones, but they are all China movements. They also claim that ALL their watches are made in Clean factory. After some research, I see that clean mainly makes Rolex and nothing else. So when they said their Breitling or Omega reps are made in the clean factory, I know they're full of shit. I guess because the people like me initially who have done a bit of research will automatically relate to the "clean factory" and without further research you'd be convinced you're getting a good product. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Most can't even produce any real photos until you place the order apparently. Because your watch is custom made so they only get photos of the finished product when it's completed for you. While this makes sense for the QC photo before they ship, it makes no sense that the factory wouldn't have any photos of their completed products. This is all very overwhelming. I just wanted to get a good Breitling clone and I was willing to pay a premium for it.

If you’re getting a “made to order rep” there are very, very few, if any, who are still a round with the skill to do that anymore. Maybe 20 years ago, but not now. And still, it would be several thousand; you MIGHT save $1k over a gen.
Factories make more watches than all gen watchmakers combined annually. They’re mass produced. A seller knows someone who can get their hands on reps down the proverbial pipeline, usually many many steps removed from factory owners. A lot of 10,000 Datejusts will go through dozens of hands before getting to a seller, each time tacking on a little more price. You’re dealing with the lowest of the low on FB and insta. These are guys who prob walk around the rep malls and try to strike up friendships with shop owners. They might get a deal on a watch after selling a few. THIS IS WHY YOU CANT GET PICTURES; bc they don’t have the watches!!! They take your money, cash it out, then go looking for what you want. They’ll tell you they can get whatever they need to tell you in order for you to pay. They worry later about availability. Then, when they can’t find YOUR watch, they have to decide “is this guy soft enough to just shut up and take what I give him? Or should I steer him to a different watch???” Sound familiar?

This is as far as I can help. I honestly find it so sad to have to sit and watch this happen to you. The more of us around, the better, but it seems like you think you’re smarter/more capable than we are, and you love gambling. So strange to me.

BLS is not clones. Close, but not. No factory makes 100% 1:1 clones. It’s sad you don’t like BLS, bc since GF shut down, they’re the only game in town even close to what GF was. Other than them, your best off buying a $100 rep from Jason.

Problem is, you never know if it's just a picture of a genuine watch or the actual take the risk and ordered it. I will let you know how that goes.

Actually, if you’d educate yourself here, you WOULD know. It’s not hard. And you don’t have to “take the risk”, you can instead learn by reading in this forum.

The guy seemed to really want to keep my business so here's hoping he took a hit or sold it at cost to make me happy.

A lot of reddit guys are definitely spending ~$1000 on reps and many people are saying you should be paying around that or it's a fake of a fake or a bad quality rep.

That’s bc they don’t want to feel stupid for getting ripped off themselves. You think all of us here wear subpar reps, and we have some weird motive to make you happy with lesser reps? They pay that much bc they don’t want to learn anything. They’re expecting Amazon shopping from the black market. They also recommend reversing CC charges when they’re at fault for not doing their due diligence, fucking things up for everyone else. Does that sound like good advice? (HINT: it isn’t)

It’s isn’t possible. It’s a lie. Why would BLS do a promotion? They can’t make em fast enough already!

Geektime isn’t a rep maker. And he isn’t here for a reason, look it up or ask a mod.

I just like that on his site he has super high quality zoomed in shots of the actual factory watches rather than most sites just showing a stock photo of the gen watch.

That’s the job of a TD. If they aren’t doing that, you’re getting scammed. Why would you judge a seller by the quality of a website, which literally a child can make, over the vetting of long standing members here? Guys that’ve been at this for 20+ years??? It makes no sense.

Gf /G Factory is gone since the raids .The glory days are kind of over .
There are a few factorys that make breitlings but their attention to detail and quality control isn't as good as the older Factorys

I think the one of TD‘s still have the GF one, checkout on chazingtime
