Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Blue Dial Pics & Opinions
Heyall,
Thought i share some pics of a recently arrived Blue BFF from my dealer...The blue flinque dial is really beautiful and this watch has been on my wrist since. I received heaps of praises from my peers for its classic yet sporty look.
Although i know there is an obvious flaw with the missing guilloche patterns on the outer most ring on the dial, its not a deal breaker for me as its too minor to be spotted when one is wearing it on the wrist. The picture below shows the rep and gen side-by-side, the rep has the missing the rose engine turned patterns on the outer-most ring on the dial that should have continued from the innermost dial circle, see pic below and you understand what i meant.
However do bear in mind we are looking at macro zoomed shots of the watch dial, which in most instance is very hard to capture once on the wrist and not easily spotted. there are some other minor flaws as well on the dial but this is only apparent when put side by side against eachother, other than that it holds up well as a very well made OTB.
With regards to the rep strap that comes with the watch, it only exhibits the bright purplish under bright light or flash photography, under normal circumstance it looks somewhat indistinguishable from the gen navy blue strap.
quick pics taken with an iphone6
additional pics from a canon compact pns
Macros of the watch head and the sunburst blue flinque dial, there is a tinge of bluish AR on the crystal and most likely single-sided.
"BLANCPAIN" stamped on the left side of the case is crisp and clear
Blancpain's IB logo embossed on the crown
Top & Bottom profile
Thumbnail Buckle
Caseback Engraving
Lume is bright and strong and glows like a torch both dial markers and bezel (after 5 secs exposure to white florescent lamp)
Obligatory Wrist Shot
Miscellaneous Pic 1: the infamous T4 lug screws and pin, took this cause thought it might come in handy for reference
Miscellaneous Pic 2: lumeshot based on 5 secs exposure and the gradual fading of the lume
Miscellaneous Pics 3&4: rep strap pics under different lighting conditions (with flash)
Miscellaneous Pics 3&4: rep strap pics under different lighting conditions (without flash)
If anyone has any questions about this watch, feel free to PM me.
Cheers
