This was a spur-of-the-moment purchase, and I went into it not knowing anything about the customized Rolex scene. This kind of got me addicted to the prospect of the Blaken/DIW/ADG reps. I came across this one as an "off-the-books" opportunity from a TD. I had made a purchase that fell through in terms of availability and this was a random one they had gotten access to. I purchased it for $525 on 8/17/24.
I was sold on the unique color scheme, and while I liked the way it wore, I have come to realize that the size of it is a bit too small for me.
As I put this ad together I find myself wanting to give it just a bit longer before I say it isn't my jam, but I'm not falling into that trap again :)
In terms of condition, this watch feels and looks fantastic. You will notice the little tape on the lugs as this is a PVD watch, I wanted to avoid any scratches on the finish. Additionally, on the back, just above "Independently" you'll see a little bit of yellow-ish both on the caseback and just next to the closest lug, that is just a little bit of leftover foil from the factory sticker (Is this a common thing?) The only caveat I have noticed is that some rotations of the second hand will experience a stutter. It does not happen on every rotation, and I've really only noticed it when I sat there staring at the watch. It does not affect the time-keeping in my experience.
This movement is a 7750, and as a result it carries the expected cautionary notes around using the chrono. I have not used it, and treated it as little more than a artistic element to the watch as opposed to a true function of it.
Lug width is 20mm, and the watch is 39mm across. I have the PVD rolex oyster bracelet with it and a no name rubber strap that will also come along for the ride. Reach out with any questions.
