I need a black PAM in my life, what I want doesn't exist, that is 47mm Luminor or Radiomir, Sandwich dial, no sub-dials or date.

What other choices do I have peeps, and pics if you have them ;-)

I have a 305 daily beater, noob 372 and DSN 232 at the moment.

There is nothing wrong with taking a stainless steel model and getting a PVD/DLC coating on it. I have seen numerous 372's and they all look good. I bought a DLC'ed 113 m2m a year ago that is fantastic. Definitely an interesting way to go and there are plenty of guys on gen forums who have done that to their pieces. Plus it allows you to create the market rather than conforming to it.

I rubbed for a while, say 20 minutes.
I can't really say if it's more gen like or less, I never saw one in person and in all the pics I see color vary from darker to lighter and from shinier to more matte.
I think it's surely closer than before, but maybe it should be a bit lighter. On the other hand the more you rub, the more you polish...
I have been advised to put a thin layer of vaseline on the case in order to diminish the polished effect, I will try and see what comes out :)

I know this is OT, but since its being discussed... Capecod on rep PVD makes the finish appear lighter and "more pencil" because it is actually removing the PVD. A byproduct of removing the PVD is seeing more stainless steel, hence the shiny finish you have now. The shine you see on Gen watches is a result of the PVD finish picking up oils from your skin. It's not really a shine but more like a semi-glossy appearance. The rep finish does not age the same way. It tends to darken and look oily instead of the nice semi- gloss appearance of the gen. I would say that if you go the capecod route, I'd keep it VERY light. Like 20 seconds per surface. Otherwise you'll remove too much of the finish and end up with a shiny black watch, unless that's what you're going for, then polish away!

Now back OT, the Sead Pam360 (budget KW) is a great low price PVD case option at $175. I just ordered one to do a build for a family member. Really great deal.

Thank you Grim, your opinion is highly appreciated and makes perfect sense.
I was not after the perfect gen color, gunmetal was in my mind and it got close. Since I'm known for messing up things I try to fix, I consider this a great result :D
Now, as I'm planning to do the same on my 532, I will rub less and see :)
