Black Clou de Paris watch dial on pam253

aside from it looks like a textured dial what is the significance / history of this type of dail for panerai and difference from a hobnail dail. are there any other models that have a Black Clou de Paris dial? is there a good rep of this dial /model out there?

Well, the difference is that the hobnail dials have lots of small bumps, whereas the CdP is like a waffle, with lost of small indents. Kind of the opposite of a hobnail...

Not sure that there *is* any history behind the CdP dial, though.
