Thanks for your insight! The only thing putting me off of the shield dial is the thickness. And for the rose dial, it's the logo. Decisions, decisions...New shield dial for me.
It's 14.8 mm compared to 11 mm of the rose dial. There's nothing wrong with it, it's just that i'm scared it'll be too tall on my wrist and it'll look weird. What's wrong with Shield's thickness?

Yes, it is. It's same thickness as gen. Tudor needed to make it thicker to accommodate the new in-house movement. Is the Shield rep actually 14.8mm thick? I hope that listing on Intime is wrong, stating that it's 11mm..:

In regards of thickness, the rose dial is much better IMO. Part of the charme od the Black Bay is (was) the slab-like case profile juxtapositioned with the thinness of 11mm. This resulted in a robust looking and elegantly thin watch.
The in house Tudor has done the same mistake as Omega (300 MC) in building too high, looking chunky and overly bulky.
In terms of dial aesthetics, the rose logo get's the edge. To me, the shield is too serious and austere, while the rose adds a nice and playful touch in contrast to the toolish overall appearance. Additionally, it is matches the Tudor name and has been around with the brand from the very beginning on. The round script (smiley) looks more pleasing to me, as the straight writing looks too broad (same with the Pelagos.)
Im equal about the bracelet.
To sum it up: imo, get the rose BB, as it follows the theme of contrast in s more pronounced way.
If you go on puretime, the shield version says 41mm x 14.8mm thickness (like gen).@seedeetee
I think there is a misconception.
ZFs shield dial versions are also 11mm thick. (~ 41x11 mm, same as genuine).
Only the bronze versions are ~ 43x15 mm, which is also the same as genuine.
So ZF made
- rose dial versions (41x11)
- shield dial versions (41x11)
- and the bronzos (43x15)
Hope that helps?
