BLACK BAY BRONZE BLUE XF vs Gen Black Bay Burgundy

This is not "apple to apple" comparison, i just wanted to show the build quality for bezel printing, dial, hands as compare with my Gen Black Bay burgundy.

Bought the watch from Intime, purposely chose the XF model since the color is almost similar with the gen (according to some of the review in this forum).

The factory strap for both leather and fabric nato strap is crap..so i decided to bought navy blue leather from watchgecko (https://www.watchgecko.com/classic-handmade-italian-leather-strap.php). The price is reasonable, much more cheaper if compare with strap from Hodinkee or Bulang & sons..:)

Bezel:
I found that the bezel printing quality is almost similar with my gen black bay burgundy. Probably i dnot know what to look at. Even as close as few cm inspection, I didnt see any obvious different between those 2 watches. Bezel movement is quite firm as well. Click sound a bit different and is it quite hard to explain.

Dial & Hands:
It we look at it few cm away, almost impossible to see the different. The color look the same. Even the size also look identical with gen black bay burgundy.

Great pictures, thanks for sharing! I seriously cannot believe how fantastic this watch is for a v1...The printing on the dial and dial color is leaps and bounds better than the original black bay bronze models.

There are very few things wrong with the watch. If i'm being picky, there are only 2 things that I would want changed. First, the raised crystal is a little different. I'm not sure if its just not as steep of a curve as gen but at the edges there is hardly any distortion compared to gen. Look at the XF compared to gen thread to see what I mean. Secondly, the bezel teeth could use a little work to be perfect but it's currently not bad. Those are really the only things (well beyond the garbage straps it comes with) that I can see.

The bronze color is off because the gen already has a little bit of patina. As patina develops, it will look like the gen.

This is my next purchase, especially after reading the xf version vs gen thread.

As I live in the U.K. Do you think there are any issues with ordering from intime? Getting stopped at customs for example...

I think it's ever so slightly lighter than the gen, but it might be the lighting. In any case, the patina will darken. It's not a problem at all.

Looking at gen vs rep, what's an effective way to speed up the patina as the rep looks somewhat brighter.

Not sure about UK, i live in Malaysia, both TD intime & puretime using ems and so far no issue with custom..i'm not sure if i purchase a lot more, probably they will check in details.

Huh? If you buy a gen, it looks bright and shiny just like the rep... That gen they compared it to was clearly used for a bit to gather the patina it had. Regardless, wear the rep for a couple of weeks and it will patina just like the gen.
