This post has been long overdue but it needs to be said. My very first experience here on RWI was not a good one. I bought a Franken Sub from overseas (yes, I know) from a member who seemed to be a good seller. The deal went bad. Seller shipped the watch in a bubble mailer, the watch got stolen in shipment, I ended up eating the whole $1300. Bad deal, right?
So, it is what it is. Ive been through a lot worse. I decide I'm going to build me a Sub. Im pretty handy amd have a background building race cars, computers and houses. I no longer can get out and do those things due to an illness I had. The treatment for that illness zapped my energy and strength so building a watch (or working on them in general) is something I can do. I put a post out wanting to buy old parts for a sub or just old parts in general. The response I got made the sting of losing $1300 diappear. The kindness I recieved from members here shows that no matter what social media or the world tells you, kindness is still the rule not the exception. Now that I've finally got pretty much all my parts to build my Sub now its going to be in an old cheap case, with a scratched up dial. The bezel will be missing a pip and the movement, while a vs3135, will not have the fancy Rolex badging on it. Make no mistake, this will absolutely be my most favorite watch in the case. Im going to build it as is with no add-on franken parts and wear it proudly! With that said, thank you @Art Vandelay @m5750 @themaxx25 for your knowledge, your friendship and your kindness. You have restored my hope in humanity. Well...somewhat. lol
