I ordered a watch at Puretime on August 3rd, I paid with Paypal and got QC pics on the 8th of August. Watch was shipped August 9th and till now I received nothing. Shipping was via UK and tracking said on the 17th of August it arrived at the Poole Depot where it was waiting 'payment of charges'. Tracking history:

I waited a couple of days and sent Puretime a mail (22nd of August), their answer:

Dear John71,

We have just completed our investigation and what we found was that there were customs fees to be paid before it could be released. We have seen this a lot due to the Olympics.

We have now paid the customs fees and within a few days our mail forwarding company within the UK will receive your package and then send it on to you.

You can expect an email from our Tracking department with your tracking number from the UK to your country within a few days.

Thanks,

Francis

Four days later nothing changed on the tracking and I didn't receive a new tracking number, so I send a new mail if my watch was hold by customs... The answer:

Dear John71,

Please monitor it for a further 3 days or so. If there is no movement please email me and we will see what can be done from our end. Right now it is a waiting game.

What does this mean? How do they 'arrange' problems like this? Will they send another watch or just refund my money?

Thanks

It happened to me too, don't stress. I had EMS through UK and it took a month, they wait for it to be paid, then you should receive a new tracking number.

They paid the duty? Wow that's service!
It's actually not their problem, it's yours.
Patience young padwan, they have already gone above and beyond the call of duty.

I think it's not my problem since I have received nothing in my home country... It's their task to ship it to UK and then off to me no?

At least that's why I paid extra money for :)

A lot of packages coming into the UK now are being charged duty whereas before most of them escaped this. I don't know what this will mean for the TDs in future as this could add considerable expense to shipping through the UK.

Puretime are handling this very well John, I really wouldn't panic mate. They will get it sorted.

Don't be anxious, it's just question of time. Waiting game. It can be long, but you should have no fear : sooner or later, things will get solved. That's frustating, but that's part of the game.

~It's actually not their problem, it's yours.~ ?!?!?!

Wait a minute, the PT offer the service "shippment via UK", you pay more for that and your package didn't arrived at your country and you say: it's costumer problem?! WTF!

Sorry, trailboss99, but you are wrong.

I don't think TB realized it was supposed to be trans-shipped through UK when he wrote that.

But don't worry, Angus will get it sorted out.

Solely regarding refunds through Paypal...you have 45 days in which to initiate a refund through Paypal - if you paid with PP on Aug 3rd then you have at least another couple of weeks before you have to press the panic button.

I guess they think I'm stupid, I asked why nothing changed and they replied:

Dear John71,

We have just paid the customs charges on your package, it will be on its way to you shortly. :)

And this is what I got 9 days ago :

Dear Yves,

Sounds like normal Chinese rep dealer timelines. Nothing happens quickly.
Have more patience.
Don't file a PP dispute.

I never heard of any dealer paying Customs fees (I don't belive that) and then suddenly it gets a new tracking number, never heard of that either.

Usually if Customs gets your watch they will charge full tax and import fee for Brand name product compared to its Brand name value which is a large amount. They know the watch is fake and most guys aren't gonna run down a pay a big fee for a rep watch, or even admit trying to import one.

My understanding is when dealers ship from other countries its to make it look like the package didn't come from China to you, however the problem is it still has to be shipped somewhere first, in this case from China to the UK, and it got caught by the UK this time.

So it all comes down to if the dealer has guranteed shipping, meaning they reship incase of seizure, if not then its on you to take the risk of importing a rep, some dealers reship free, some reship for half off, some tell you to go F yourself, all depends on what your agreement is with the dealer.
