Hey all. For folks who don't know me, I've been here for quite some time. I've been through the whole vintage Rolex route. I've bought, sold, modded and worked with a wide range of modders over the last 5 years or so.
So I've been putting off my servicing for watches for over 2 years. Why? I just couldn't find a reliable watch smith to work on my pieces. I've tried some and have gotten pretty shitty results in the last 5 years. So I pretty much gave up looking and decided on just hoarding the pieces I never wish to sell and wait for a watch smith to appear.
Just as luck would have come, I've made a pretty penny over the past 2 years and RWI listed a new watch smith, Nik.
I saw his reviews, contacted him, and close to instantly I knew that I was working with a real professional. I've worked with professional watch smiths before in my area - but they only do genuine pieces, which I wholly respect. I have a few local watch smiths which I know are in the game in my area but I can't trust them wholly because they are hobbyists - not actual watch smiths. And the last thing I wanted to do was to spend money and mostly - time waiting for a person who would do this as a hobby and receive a piece that is half-baked. I've learned from my mistakes. When it comes to watch servicing, you either go professional or it's not worth the time and money.
I sent Nik two of my favorite timepieces that sorely needed some movement fixes - my 6538 and 5513. Both have been with me for over 4-5 years but have been dormant for 2 years because the movements were busted.
Nik responded in record time. I sent my package over, he acknowledged on the same day and finished repairing the first piece within one week. And I'm talking about the whole works:
As you can see, I'm ridiculously impressed at the speed and quality of work that Nik has produced.
I've been in this game for awhile - Nik is easily one of the best watch makers I've worked with when it comes to turnaround, quality, and speed.
I would highly recommend his services, and I personally plan to send him more of my pieces to work on.
Hope you guys give Nik a chance - I am certain that you won't be disappointed.
I write this at the cost of my turnaround time lol, but I think he deserves it, albeit I'll probably wait longer for my pieces to be serviced.
I hope your business flourishes buddy!
P.S The best part about Nik? He takes cryptocurrency payments. No dumb fees on Paypal. You guys might be keen if you have some crypto accounts!
My pieces back to me in less than 1 month (From my experience, waiting for over 3-4 months is not unusual. His speed is insane.)
