hi all!
been dwelling on a panerai for the last few months now but due to just starting to learn more about the brand the different references are confusing a bit.
i have come to conclusion that vsf is the best factory currently due to their superclone movement.
i am looking to find out what would be their best and closest to gen replica currently?
for reference i have a 21cm wrist and can pull of 44mm watches..
i’d love some suggestions!
i am leaning towards a blue or black dial.

cheers!

If you also want to broaden your views, are not stuck on 1:1 to gen and want something unique to you...check this out

I was like you, looking for the "perfect" PAM...until I saw his work. I PMed him just a few days after

I don’t know how close to gen it is but love my new VSF 1074
It’s 42mm but still feels substantial and wears like my titanium 44mm Pam’s which is the sweet spot.

I have some 47mm ones also but they get a lot less wrist time than the lighter ones. (7.25” wrist)

Wait did you say 21cm wrist?
That’s like 8”

Yah stick to the 44mm ones. 😂

For 44mm subs there was a bit of a gap in Time between the older hard to find now models and the new ones (1226)
If you can find an older 243 that would be best.

My 47mm 1389 is another fav of mine, I think you can still get a 389.

Most higher end Panerai reps are great. You really have to be a true Risti to catch some of the flaws. I have a 372 that I've been wearing for almost 8 years. One of my go to pieces.
looking into the submersible in more so now, i think the 1229 might be a good choice unless other vsf models are better?
i’m open to look at other ones

any further notes?
i bought the 1314 which i’m in love with, put a few gen rubber straps on it and it looks amazing.
but i’m still itching for a submersible any help with this would be greatly appreciated!
i was looking at the pam960 carbotech but unsure if it’s close to gen.

Generally 42mm subs are thicker than gen due to the wrong movment inside.

47mm subs are all very good, but well... big...
1616 is on special offer by Hont (chek reddit) and you can get it for 400 usd delivered. Same look like the 960, but in 47 mm

44 mm - the new 1324 in carbotech is very well made.

i see..
i mean the 1616 would be fantastic but 47 is just too big.
are you saying the 960 is too thick in comparison?

i will check out the 1324.

The gen 960 is 13.8mm, rep is 14.5 so it's up to you if the difference is a deal breaker.

I vote 1074. I picked up this one and my initial impressions are extremely positive. Build quality is as good as any h-factory or noob I've owned, movement is running beautifully per my timeographer (which is a standard p9000 superclone so not specific to this model). I've never had a 42 mm before so I picked up this one to try and I'm very pleased with it. Already gotten a couple of compliments on it and only worn it twice so far. It's not a subtle piece, but much more wearable then the 47mm bronzo (382) I previously had. I loved it's looks but it was too big to really enjoy wearing for a full day.
