I'm fairly new to the rep game I used to frequent WUS then progressed over to the dark side!! I've ordered and am awaiting an AP diver V2 like a lot of other peps on this site but lately I've been attracted to the pam submersible line...I know the 243 is really nice but I'm wondering given a budget of $200.00 which Pam Sub would you guys recommend? I'd like something well made and accurate to the original if possible? Any recommendations? Or am I dreaming??

I don't think you can get both parameters in a brand new watch. Granted 200$ is higher than the beginner PAMs like the one Toro sells but nothing well made and accurate as you say. There might be a possibility on used pieces so be on the look out. At that price, it will go fast.

Yea $200 won't do it unless you get Toro's 24 which is under $100 and thus not the most high quality. Still a nice rep though. You could consider looking for a used 186, which technically isn't a sub but has the look of one. Those were a Tony special and could be had pretty cheap

Anyway, raise that budget to about $300 and you could find the highly touted 243, a used 305 or a DSN 24 or 25. Go to $400 and it opens up the 187

I was thinking of going for the 024 from Toro but they are sold out and he said they probably won't be making any more...I've seen this 305 from Kuvarsit for $159.00 I know he's not a TD here so I'd be taking my chances, says it's an Asian 23j movement which I'm assuming is just a 21J movement with a couple of extra jewels. http://www.kuvarsitwatch.com/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=31509

Accurate Pam sub for under $200. Not gonna happen.

There are really cool Pam subs under $200 like the depth gauge and the 194.
