Best/safest way to swap inserts on rolex GMT

I've been looking around for ideas on safety swapping inserts. Do you just pry off the old insert fro. The bezel and glue a new one or remove the bezel to save the "good one" then buy a new bezel with insert from there?

For my sub I bought a new bezel and kept the old one as spare part

Are you referring to a 6 digit or 5 digit GMT? The 6-digit is ceramic, so just attempting to pry it off you'll probably end up snapping it.
