I've had good luck swimming with lots of chronos

PAM 250

Porsche flat 6 Chrono

Just make sure your gaskets are well seated, the pushers are no problem.

Truer words were never spoken. I still do not understand why anyone would ever need a watch while swimming, and with computers I don't know why I would need one scuba diving either.

I wouldn't wear a rep diving but I wear one spear fishing. I can easily lose track of time - I am sometimes in the water for two or three hours - and if the watch is pressure tested to 100m why WOULDN'T I wear it?

As to plain old swimming - I understand, people might not want be on the beach and be seen taking off a watch rated (supposedly) to 1200 meters before splashing around in the surf.

If I am at the beach, my watch is with my wallet, locked up. I have done a lot of scuba diving in my time and with the advent of the computers that was the last time I needed a watch. In my job, the only reason any of us wears a watch is just to see how deep it can go or to say it has been there. I would never trust a rep at any real depth. As for the citizens and Seikos and my Invicta, they will do everything they claim as far as WR, but we have teams of people watching our time and if you keep looking it just makes the time drag.

Living on the beach for the last 20-plus years we all jump in the water one time or another with one of our watches on. My Rolex reps have never failed for social swimming. I have been diving with my MBW Y-Master and my Sea Dweller no problem. These are light dives no deeper than 100 feet. I don't care if the watches fail or not. I can look down and if i see a leak i just take it off in my towel as i step on to the boat or beach. I just don't want to say let me take my watch off while i jump in the pool with the kids - looks a bit odd.

Yea I just don't like to take my watch off when i'm at the beach, and i don't think i will go diving more then a 100ft. But I guess the way to go is to get it pressure tested first even if it says 30m right???????

Yeah - if you test the watch to 100m you are fine for swimming and snorkeling. The test runs about $15 at most places. This is the safest way if you really want to swim with the watch.

For casual swimming, 90% of reps will be fine. However, if you want to be certain, or dive to any depth. I would most certainly go with the SFSO or the SSD, in that order. I always wear my SFSO at the beach and pool, as well as for dives! Good luck.

This is something i've been wondering myself recently. But not so much for just swimming but sports in general. I havent seen many reports of people wearing reps playing tennis, soccer, running, sport swimming etc...

Will the movements last under vigorous activity?

I would not swim with a rep with chrono pushers. Screw
down crowns and tight casebacks with good silicone grease. I take a modest step on using a hard shell paste wax( car wax) and smear it on the crystal letting it get into the gasket voids and polish it off the excess
