What's interesting to me is that I had never even heard of or seen a Pam 029 before, I had to google it to see what it was. To be honest just looking at it it looks like a fake because it is so unlike most of the popular Panerai styles. Kinda like an explorer II Pam. So you have to ask yourself, do you want a 1:1 replica of a watch that is relatively unknown leaving people to think its a rep by default, or a 95% copy of a well known style that will likely be more passable to the general public. By default, the closed case backs are gong to have a built in advantage over display back. But who's gonna see it anyway?
I'd pick the case you want, then the color of case, then color if face, then hands, then whether or not you want a date and then pick the best of what's left. Pam's are all subtle iterations of a couple of styles. Kinda like Porsche. Just my $.02...
