I went through most of the reputable dealers and found their Omega Speedmaster porfessional. Wanted to get advice on the best one available that is closest to the original in size, accuracy, quality, etc.

As you've identified, there are only limited options available for the Speedy Pro. And none of them are particularly good. It's a model the rep factories simply don't seem to care that much for, probably because there's no simple off-the-shelf movement options out there that would allow the dial to be made with the correct position of the 3/9 subdials. Instead, they make do and the result is dimensionally off by a fair margin. So, what you see is what you can get, unfortunately.

And for that reason I (and a lot of other Speedy fans) end up going for a gen.

If you don't want to buy a gen, buy a nice looking Quartzie from RepSource and freeze the Sub @3 hand and be done wi' it.

Same deal with the metal case MoonSwatch builds, freeze Sub @2.

Regarding AP's with 7750, I'd rather buy Quartzies since the 7750's have given many folks a heap of expensive grief ..................

This reminds me, since December I've got an awful lot of Hand Freezes to catch up on as well as a couple of 7750 / 3 movement swaps

Go for gen on the Speedy - I searched and sampled for years, they just didn't get it right I'm afraid. The Metal Moonswatch builds are a good go-between for scratching the itch

If you’re not too concerned about what’s inside, you can find some surprisingly good quartz variants on sites like Ali and DH for a very low price. Personally, I’m impressed with the quality of these considering they cost at most 50-100$. But of course, don’t expect too much

£130 For the first 2 Speedies below, plus I have a Snoopy 50th anniversary en-route all 3 from RepSource, they are way better than the AliEx / DHG stuff ....





Here's a couple of my metal case MoonSwatches ....





Notice that the green dial "Colours of Ireland" watch has had the subdial hand @2 frozen, the other 3 watches above haven't yet.

I will be doing all my quartzies at some point, but just never realised how busy I'd be in the actual process of retiring lol.

Now, if someone wants to tell all their mates and family they are Genuine, yeah, just bite the bullet and buy from Omega AD, but I'm quite happy with the quartz ones, and they are way more reliable even if they do look slightly different.

Doing the hand freeze is just to satisfy my own OCD, I even have a Quartz Daytona ....

looking at the apollo speedmaster and the speedy pro, the metal band is not correct though..i did see in their pictures they have the correct metal band...does no one do a proper replica of that either?
