Best kept secret in Replicas?

So I picked up a 239 over the weekend, it needed some work as it was sold as DOA. With some minor tinkering it seems to be fine for the moment. Today a bunch of parts I ordered arrived and I finally got my modded Arktos back in working order.

My Arktos by the way runs within +-2 seconds in 30 days which is remarkable even by Swiss standards but lets not forget this is the stripped down Asia 7750!

So that leads me to the question Is the stripped down Asia 7750 the best kept secret in the Replica world?

The 7750 movement is robust and accurate even with the complexity of the chronograph functions so with the extra bells and whistles removed this little gem should be pretty much indestructible and when tuned up right should run as good as the best swiss movements!

just some food for thought and an opportunity to show a picture :p

yeah i think the lack of the chrono parts = less worry for those afraid of the 7750... but +- 2 in 30 days??!! omg that is GOOD.

2 sec in 30 days... I think we should patend it with swiss company.... :-0)
if i am not mistaken 5 sec in 24 hours considered great.. you need 1/100 sec counter for that with 30 days.
Congratulations on your new watch by the way.. i was afraid its gonna be to big on my wrist.. like PO.

that watch is toooo accurate...you might have to time it in about 10 other positions just to get it to go DOWN to

COSC standards  :D

I have 2 chrono's currently. The PO runs great, the 089 died after 5 hours. If someone can figure out what the difference between alive and dead is, I would think their is potential for income. They seem to run great, or die a sudden death. I read that one of the big problems is getting parts to repair them.

parts isn't a problem there are Chinese 775x movements on the bay and I imagine a lot of the genuine parts will fit too!

The 089 should be a pretty simple setup too, stripped down movement plus gmt add ons still should be very reliable, I would think it would be worth fixing, maybe think about ziggy/joe/palp having a look at it!

notice I didn't volunteer to fix that for ya  even stripped down the 7750 is really easy to scatter in the wind!

mine is a 239, completely different watch!

@ triple-d
I'll be more than happy to look at it but I am pretty limited in what I can do with it if something is really wrong. If it's just a loose screw or something stupid like that I can sort it out pretty quick though.
My opinion is it's worth fixing though! You can always sell it to me cheap and I might get lucky and fix it in 10 minutes too!

the 187 problem is two part at least, one the font and two the depth behind the dial that it sits.
I've not had one of the 3, 6, 9, movements apart yet so I am not sure what can be done with it. It may be possible to just stack another date wheel on top of the original one to get the hight that is needed and the font but I seem to remember hearing that there was some issue with this and one of the chrono subdials.

Vaccum or Joe might be able to elaborate on that some more here or ziggy over on the other forums would probably be able to explain what is involved if he hasn't already!
