Hi guys!

I´m about to pull the trigger on DSN PAM. I´d like a Titanium one with sandwich dial. Which one do you like best and/or you think is most accurate?

I realy like the DSN 176H, but the back is setting me back since the case back has a serial number which is differrent than the one in the case it self. I´ve seen some pics of gens and they dont have those serial numbers in the case, only in the case back. Josh has them with those SN, so makes me wonder if that is correct for some versions... Are there some 177 models that have those SN in the case? How easy would be to sand out the SN in the case back?

177H is the other option. I have a 111h but without mods.

Which one? Please help me decide guys...

Thanks for looking and for any help I can get here since it would be my first rep over 200 US$. I might get rid of most of my other reps if I get a DSN.

Cheers,

SS

HI SS,

I do agree with you that DSN's 176H is the best DSN TI with Sandwich dial watch. Assuming he still offers the same model as pictured in his post.

I believe you can tell him to put in the correct case - so it only has numbers in the caseback.

But the thing is, there is no correct caseback that exists for 176 (all 176 reps come with 177 caseback or sometimes 036 caseback and case), so it'll be a bit off from the back view anyway. I have a modded 176G, and I had to settle for incorrect caseback as well. Either way, not a big deal, imo.

Thanks Joe for your response....

I asked DSN I told me that is the only case back he has... But didn´t tell say anything about the case.... I will ask him...

Is not really a big deal really, but its a lot of money for me ... I know is not possible to get a perfect one, but if its possible to avoid the little flaws why not ;)

Cheers,

SS

I guess you're right that you deserve one with a better flaw with that kind of money.

I personally don't like the 177H from DSN, the dial is just too off (markers are too close to the edge of the dial, shaped wrong, etc.) If it has to be a TI, I would still go with 176 with the wrong back side of the case. How about DSN's 112H? There is a really good review on this.

The absolute ultimate option I prefer is getting a modded 176 or 177 from Vaccum or FF. TWP now offers a modded version as well. Have them throw in a font dying service, so it's more ivory-ish rather than white & also CG lever mod and lever pin mod (to sit flush to the CG). But I guess, we are talking a couple hundred extra dollars...

I guess that TWP option will be out of budget... also IMHO, I dont think spending more than 400 dollars for a rep is worth it in my situation. :(

I was also checking the DSN 112H, and I think is an excelent option. What worries me is the CG and crown, the 176H has better C & CG set, at least in the pics.

However, the lume shot of the 112 shows nice CG.

Thanks Joe for your thoughts, they are very helpful...

umm, this is tough decision... 176 or 112!? :?

Hiya SS,
well, if you're really inclined towards a Luminor Ti Pam with sandwich dial ask DSN if he can still supply the watch with his older 112/176 base sandwich dial, just like the dial your 'mate' Victoria over there on RWG has in her DSN_112H :)

That was one of the most accurate base sandwich dials, 'L Swiss Made L' isn't touching number 6, shape of cutouts is closer to the gen, dial txt is slightly off but still goo enough to go with this watch over the existing standard rep 112/176 sandwich dial. Some will debate and argue the top sandwich layer is thinner than it should be, but that's not that much noticeable on his older 112H/176H dial.

Hope this helps a bit,
babola :)

Hi Babola!

Sure it helps a lot, thanks a lot for your response.... I will try reserching a little more about that version and will try to contact DSN to ask if it is still available.

Cheers!!

i think those problems are really just ....minor. you cant be to anal .....i think Dvdsns 177 H is very good for the price.
i would rather look out to a flush crownguard on the Ti.
i have always realized that gaps are more common on Ti watches.

Your right HU... I think I will just go for a cheaper version and learn to live with the little flaws... Trevor has a really good deal

I am with you... it is still a replica... I have a limit I would be willing to pay ... and trying to mod all the flaws away only to still have other flaws and the fact that it is still a replica ... pushes me toward the lesser expensive pieces.. just not willing to fork out the $400 to $500 to $600 for a rep. But hey that is me... many on here are willing to spend that.
