what are your opinions for the best closed back pam in the market? I'm so sick of the seethrough backs and they make me nervous. :shock:

Hmmmmm, interesting question.
The new "ultimate" 092 is a good choice.
Then there are all the neo vintage PAMs like the 201A, 009, 202A, 002, 040, 001B, etc.
The 082 would be another excellent choice.
The dials on the 005 and 000 offerings are too far off to be in the running, IMO.

Whose? I just had a look at Josh's and the crown is horrible. The dial looks pretty good, though I'm no font guru. The caseback shows a D serial, so the L dial would be correct, unlike the 036.

61D is dead on. Crown actually is pretty good in person (if you look at Gen pics, the crowns are a bit thinner than recent Historic models). I own one and it'll be Vaccumed in the next week or so. I got mine thru Joshua and I consider it one of the most accurate PAM historic series model, along with Pam 1B.

Well, since you asked, here's my 'solid-caseback' mech PAM rep list in order of preference:
- "Old-school" 1B-L (PAM001B L-dial) - the whole rep is just awesome, caseback is close to perfect, with re-lume and cannon pin fix you get one of the closest Pam reps available.
- PAM061D, in Titanium (brown sausage dial), the whole watch is unbelieveble, the caseback looks like it was 'removed' from the gen - simply perfect!
- DSN 5218-201/A (with either his own or standard rep's Logo caseback)
- "Logo 5 G" (PAM005G)...G-series caseback is spot on, standard rep dial has some minor issues though. DSN dial as an alternative.
- "Logo Base G" (PAM000G)...again G-series caseback is great, slightly wrong OP number though, dial is nice, logo close to 1:1 but letter 'R' is wrong shape/font.
