For example, is something like a N6F Factory Rolex Daytona DIW Carbon with a Asia Clone 4130 Slim Chronograph leaps and bounds better than a Asia 7750 secs @ 6:00 Valjoux Automatic with Functional Chronograph in the same Daytona? I'm also open to/interested in other movements if there are better.

I had one with an a7750 and it never was quite right from the jump (especially the chrono being extremely delicate) and I think one good bump all but killed it. I'd like to replace that, but I haven't kept track of the movements for this piece in years (maybe 5). Curious what the consensus is.

Thanks in advance!

Briefly put, the answer is yes. Take a look at this:

You need to get yourself a series 12 from Clean or even VSF
You will be blown away

Dont buy 7750, now there are full fledge 4130 clones. For new 12 series there is 4131 clones. For budget there is 4801. Game come a long way.

You've piqued my interest for sure. These will out-perform the movement in the DiW rep? I don't know why, but I really have a thing for the daytona in a carbon case.

Well yeah, that was a long time ago and it was clearly a mistake even then. The N6F claims to be a 4130 clone, I wonder if it can keep up as a "full fledge" clone. Not sure if we can post links, bu the model is ROLDYT0527B on Trusty's page.

Thank you. This is great. I remember going through this (or a similar post) in detail long ago when looking at GMT's in relation to hand stacks!
