I hate you... you almost fooled me into thinking that's a gen watch!

(Just my way of saying... THAT's A GREAT CATCH!)

Lovely watch...

That movement picture is also from a genuine, or did you get that nicely engraved rotor with your ETA?? :)

the rotor was from a chrono avenger from 2004/2005. :) completes the whole look, eh?

review:

angus was a pleasure to deal with. awesome, fuss free communication and extremely fast shipping! ordered on monday and got it on saturday. thank you once again for the great service!

watch:

case
all polished case with screw-dwn crown and pushers, unidirectional rotating bezel. casework is very precise, tolerance for the crown/cg is less than 1mm, extremely tight and well enginered. finishing is even on all areas exposed to viewing. inside of lugs nt as nicely finished. serial number present on lug. caseback is nice and detailed, with very nice engravings and polished/sand blasted finish. bezel is a lil too loose for me but no biggie on a ~$600 watch. bezel action feels like gen even tho it's loose.

crystal
domed, AR crystal. AR coating is not as good as the big bang, probably cause the crystal is slightly domed and is more prone to reflections. cuts out most of the reflections, not as much as the big bang. crystal sits level on the crystal retainer and has a very nice distortion.

dial
grey dial w black subdials. dial finishing is pretty good, printing is sharp and circular etching is nice and even. markers are high polished and are detailed with horizontal lines. lume is decent

hands
hands are high polished, all chrono hands resets to 0.

movement
swiss 7750 on a metal movement spacer. no decorations watsoever. winding weight had been changed by me. :) movement beating nice and strong.

strap/bracelet
this is, imho, the letdown of the watch. the polishing is not as even, finishing on the underside of the clasp is rought, bracelet has a few sharp edges and some links are extremely tight. the bracelet links and clasp are a lil too thin as well, does not feel substantial when compared to the case.

rep vs gen
i've probably been spoiled by the 4 breitlings i own, so the repling CE does not feel as substantial as the gens. AR coating on the repling is prob ~80% of the strength of the gen and the dial finishing and detaling is no where as awesome as the gen. bracelet on the repling is not as heavy and as well finished as the gen.

bottom line
the finishing of the hidden areas are no where as good as the H-big bang. it, too, does not feel as well made as the big bang. however, it is still a great watch for $600.

:p Well done! It seems that mine has misaligned bezel. :p Pure unluck but nonetheless still love the watch.

PS: I went to check at Cortina Watch at Millennia Walk. They have similar piece (except it's a gen ) The word Automatic should be in white colour and the grey/graphite colour appears lighter on the genuine. Hell... it's retailing for almost 9k SGD.

Yeah indeed. I will try to remove the bezel. The screws are indeed applied with loctite.

Anyhow, this rep feels more "right" as compared to the Bentley. Perhaps due to wrist size?

For the small links at the clasp you need two screwdrivers.... and the dexterity to hold one screwhead still while loosening or tightening the one on the opposite side. I was able to do one small link, but not the other, on my BCE. Good luck.

As luck would have it, I just needed to remove 1 link from each side. :D
Fits great and looks awsome these pictures don't do it justice. Great pictures but nothing can compare to it in person.
