I just picked up a Heritage Black Bay Red (case, bracelet, dial, hands) off eBay. Case and movement ring are for a 2824. Everything looks nice, engravings, bracelet, etc, but the bezel is terrible. Weak spring, not smooth to turn. The most curious thing that I'm looking for some insight on, is the fact that it takes 90 clicks for a full revolution. I've searched all over and found nothing on this. Is there a known rep version that had 90 clicks? Any tips on which AD I might reach out to inquire on getting a proper 60 click assembly? Thanks!

Why didn't you just order the zf v5? Sorry I know that doesn't help.

While it doesn't help me, I think your response is very pertinent to most people considering this watch. I have a nice swiss 2824-2 movement ready for a project that I got basically for free. I picked up this case set for $75 off eBay, so I'm really in to the project for hardly any money. Lastly, I love the tinkering aspect of putting it together myself. I've played around with some other builds including a frankenjust, and find it a very satisfying process. To anyone else starting from scratch, there's no reason not to just go turnkey with a v4 or v5. At this point, I'm leaning towards saving the swiss mvmt for something else, and putting an A2824 in this watch and enjoying it for what it is. I will probably try and pop the bezel on this and see if this can be modded just for the fun of it.

Does anyone have any experience with any of the generic/sterile cases from ebay or elsewhere? I messaged a few sellers to see if any of those have 60 click bezels. They are cheap enough, I could pick up one with a black or blue bezel, and be able to swap colors when I feel like it, in addition to having a more correct assembly.

I popped the bezel last night. Far from gen construction, so I guess it is what it is, not worth any more effort. I reassembled it without the click spring, and I'm going to play around with aging the case and dial. It will be good practice because I really want to build a vintage 7928, once I find a nice gilt dial.
