Hello everyone, is it possible to mod this to the CHS? If so, theoretically, are there any watchmakers out there willing to experiment on one I’ll buy. Thanks in advance.

Imo you need to get a different mvt A3186 / A3187 or a modified A2836 like from a GMT master II

If you do that, please share your experience, I might be also interested in molding to chs (the only flaw in this watch IMO)

First mod should be gen insert.

From what i have read it requires a movement change but the tradeoff is it is less reliable. If you do change the movement get it serviced to replace weak areas.

Right now the problem is getting gen parts. The only part that a seller claimed was gen, that I’ve seen, was the insert. And not everyone agreed on that.

So upgrading the movement to CHS won’t help you.

Buy it if the ICHS doesn’t bother you and enjoy it for what it is - a very nice rep. Or save up for the gen.

You would likely have to buy a whole CHS rep just to get that movement IDK of any other way to acquire it. And I wouldn't trust buying a used one, as temperamental as they are. Assuming you had a new, fully functioning A3186/7, I see no reason why it couldn't just be swapped 1:1 for the 2836 in your watch. Have you read the sticky on how to set and adjust the CHS? Having a CHS movement is not without risk, of course you would still have your old movement as a backup.

If I can franken a rep for under 1k then it’s worth it to me over buying one for over 4-5k. You can clearly see the difference right?

$3900 for a real watch with value. $1000 for an unreliable toy. Nope, don't see it. If I did anything I'd put a gen swiss movement in it. But only if I could get it bubble wrapped so I know it not been screwed with. But I would wait until it broke. More likely I'll get tired of it and sell it first.

But everyone has a different value system. Toy is worth $300 to me.
