I liked CBR and was very sad when I learned he'd turned to the dark side.

I mean... not OUR Dark Side - the other dark side.

Sorry you got ripped off.

This is why I'm stumped why the forums allow people to state swiss movements without photos of the movement, good ones to determine.

I assume they are all not swiss when people claim it is stated.

Sorry TS.

It was my PAM164

He sold it to me, the mvt came to me broken. This was supposedly a new Swiss mvt his watchmaker swapped in. He took it back and put in another new Swiss mvt.

It now appears it was all BS

Expensive lesson for me, I paid several hundred for the watch

Same here.

Terry was helpful to me when I was a noob. Just sad that he is apparently unstable and had a bad core. I never saw it but it was revealed to staff.

Just crappy for you, wat. Sorry.

this is wat he wrote:

Quality control not just an issue on Asian movements...
So, I am going to vent a bit... and publicly thank Wat44 for being so understanding.
A little over 5 weeks ago now, I sold Watt44 a Pam164 that I had a genuine SEALED and NEW Swiss 7750 installed in.

The watch was shipped from the US to Australia where it began acting crazy and stopping/starting and basically not keeping good time.
The watchmaker that installed the movement warranties his work, so we had it shipped back to the US. He took it apart, couldnt identify an exact issue so returned the movement to the parts house for a warranty replacement to be sent out.

After a week or so, a SECOND factory sealed Valjoux/Eta 7750 movement arrived, the necessary parts were removed/swapped and it was installed.
The watch ran fine for the day that it was here, and was again shipped off to Australia. After a couple days the watch began stopping at the same time every day. Ay app 9:30 in the AM ONLY the watch would stop. Manually adjusting the time would get it running and keeping good time again UNTIL 9:30 the next morning.
NOTE: this only happened at 9:30 am, so my first assumption that it was a hands issue was not possible.

SO, it gets shipped back to the US again and arrives yesterday morning. Gets taken back over to the watchsmith who opens it, takes it completely apart and finds that the Third Wheel has two bad teeth on the gear. SO when it went around to that spot on the gear it would stop.

Pop in a brand new Third gear and it has kept perfect time since yesterday afternoon at 3pm.

So, just because we purchase a watch with a Swiss movement (even a factory sealed and boxed Swiss movement) does not mean that Quality Control will not be an issue. OF COURSE, the chances of getting a bad Swiss movement are probably pretty slim. BUT this is an exampled of two movements from the same parts house having issues in the matter of a month.

In any event, the watch has been regulated and will remain on the winder through the weekend to insure that it is running perfectly.

Watt44, I will update you with tracking on Monday when I send it back to you again...........

Wat, riddle me this.
After all the trouble you have had with this guy (more than one broken and more than one missing watch) over a period of years why would you still buy stuff from him?
