As I started to buy rep subs a black one a hulk and a Kermit - I thought to be fair I’d buy a white Bamford, for my wife, not the cheapy, but an ok mid range.

I was curious so bought a case removal tool, opened it up and it’s an s2824, not a clue which factory. Keeps good time, rotors quiet and other than white I like it.

She didn’t like it. Too big. She wanted a Chanel J12 which she tried on in Dubai. Not wanting to spend 7 grand and reading reviews I got the Korean one which she loves, and is very close to the gen, I have put them side by side. It’s the smoothest movement I’ve sampled including some gens we have.

So the Bamford no good. Anyway as I decided to keep it and have a play. Put it on leather first see if she’d like it.

Nope. Still. Too big. She explained she’d never like it so why didn’t I have it.

So put it back on bracelet, got a Pepsi bezel and turned it into a weird hybrid subgmt monster. Didn’t photo it. To be fair it looked great. Bit weird.

2 months I wore it once a week on sunny days.

Changed the bezel back to a blue sub bezel in blue and put it on a blue nato this week.

Now I’d like to make it look like a 116619LB for a bit and would like some help to achieve it.

I think a dial and hand set. Here it is next to the brochure pic of how I want it next. Am I correct?

A few questions if any of you kind people can help.

1. Where do I get the dial and handset?
2. Having only ever removed the back and changed the bezel - how do I do the removal and re fit. And is it difficult/risky.
3. I have a case removal tool, a loop, a hand removal thing and a holder thing. Do I need anything else?
4. When I do this I’ll use my camera blower to remove dust, should I lubricate anything?

Hope this is not too long/boring. Thanks in advance all.

The rehaut is extremely dished (like a wok), this is typical for low end reps from years ago. My concern would be that a gen spec rep dial would not fit.

You’d probably also want to change the crystal and date wheel as well (the current set-up is a bit to DHgate looking even for mid range reps in 2020).

It’s likely that the cost of gen spec dial/hands/DW/cyclops, would put the price above the cost of an early noob version smurf, which would have a far superior case.

But if you’re just doing it for fun/learning then it’s a good base to have a play and see how it goes.

Agreed that it does look dished.

I might try a raffles dial but they are not flat like the smurf. does anyone know where to get a flat dial?

I haven't seen this on any TD websites... does any factory actually make a decent copy of this watch with a reliable movement?
