Hey RWI

Newcomer here

I am looking at getting the Ballon Bleu 42mm Mens watch. Possibly from TrustyTime.
From reading of the forums I gather that the V6F V4 version is largely considered the best in this model but I have found that they have available an AF version as well.

The only difference I can gather from the specifications is the movement.

The V6F utilizes: Nickel Plated Asia 2824-2 Automatic Movement (28,800bph) with Decorated Rotor

Price on website: $258

The AF utilizes: Nickel Plated Asia 2892-2 Automatic Movement (28,800bph) with Decorated Rotor

Price on website: $368

Could you guys please bestow some knowledge here? What is the difference in the 2 movements and is the difference worth the additional spend?

Thanks for taking the time.

In gen movements the 2892 is classed as the better movement smoother second hand , thinner , better time keeping . With Chinese replica movements there is not much difference, they are not assembled or tested/regulated in the same way as gens .So i wouldn't worry about the choice on this basis .There is one major difference between the 2824-2 and the 2892-2 , the 2824 has a gradual date change , the 2892 has an instant flip at midnight . Both replicas are pretty spot on reproductions, should both be on the NWBIG imo . Probably worth checking it does actually have a 2892 with an instant date flip in the AF with Trusty before you order .To be honest i think that ( and i may be wrong ) is an old listing for the AF , and the lastest batches have a 2824 inside as well, and are being sold at the price or near the price of the V6 .
