Ballon Bleu Datewheel!

Hi everyone,

I'm just about to pull the trigger on a ballon bleu but need some help.

There are two version available:

and

Ive been told theyre from different makers, but the second one has a better dial than the first one, but the datewheel isnt as good.

Would it be best to go for the second one and find a datewheel somewhere else? If so, anyone know where i can get one?

if you can't find a new datewheel, I'd say people tend to notice the dial a LOT more than they notice a datewheel

Take the correct date wheel!!

Take the one with the correct date-wheel!!

If you look carefully on the site, you'll notice that the one with the correct, silvered datewheel with Cartier font is called the 'ULTIMATE' version. The other one merely states it has a Swiss movement.

I have the Ultimate Ballone Bleu as pictured, and it is an AMAZING watch. Nothing else quite like it. Had a few problems with the bracelet: the links can be a biatch to adjust... the screws do sometimes strip. So go carefully.

I've also had a problem with the springbars unclipping... so have them replaced with decent springbars.

Otherwise, GREAT watch. Having the wrong datewheel completely RUINS the look!!

Buy them both, have the date wheel from the top one swapped into the bottom one and sell the top one on RepGeek...
