I wonder if the more demand for tourbillons there are--like most things--the cheaper they'll get, or if like some high-end items (i.e. Louis Vuitton), they'll only go up in price.

I've just compared it to a gen side by side and I think they haven't done too badly at all actually.

I think i'm going to get one just for fun.

Just in case anyones interested I got one of these badboys from this dealer (Ufanta) on Ioffer after emailing a few of his previous buyers to check his cred (all positive with no quibble replacements for any faulty watches sent etc), and I absolutely love it. It's now on a Gasgasbones canvas strap and is getting more wrist time than anything I have at the moment. I've also painted the "Tourbillon" in black to make it more realistic looking and lumed it as best I can with some leftover C1 I had kicking about.

I would normally abide by the golden rule of only using our dealers, but as they don't stock this watch....what is a man to do.

For $90 this is a fantastic watch. I'll get a piccy on for you asap.

Very good, glad you're enjoying it. It does feel quite substantial for the price doesnt it? :D

Is yours a manual wind or an auto? From the link you posted, it looked like a manual.
It seem like there are now 3 versions of this watch going around, but only one has the grey "wobbly H-shape" surround to the top & bottom dials
I bought 2 from Ufanta; the man & auto - both are pretty good, though the auto has the edge with the rotating "&" symbol and the wobbly H.

PS: I think the reason he sells for so low is cause he is selling more products than our dealers,(maybe)

One thing to be aware of when buying B&Rs from Ufanta, on some of the cheaper models, the rubber strap
is very poor quality. Dust and fibres stick to it. I think its the same rubber as the Planet Ocean first generation straps. I suppose two rules of thumb are:

to check if the "BR" buckle is engraved or etched. If its etched, its the crap strap

if the strap appears to be very matte with no shine, again its the crap strap

I'm wondering if the gold is PVD or just plate? I'm not sure how else you could do it. I always think that the gold on reps is just too Shiny. It always looks like Sadaam Hussain's bath taps.

The prices are actually amazing, considering the usual prices from our traditional dealers... when you factor in the chances that wherever you buy, no matter the price, there's a certain chance you'll get screwed over quality or performance-wise, paying half seems like a better idea. Besides, B&R watches look like there's hardly anything to screw up when replicating, so both sources should supply roughly the same items.

I wish ufanta offered any 03s with SS case and black dial :(

Also, all those straps look like they're screaming "please PLEASE replace me with a decent aftermarket strap".. not like we wouldn't do that as it were :p

What movements are in these? I'm rather fond of this one:

I would expect that they would have a chinese 4813 automatic - available at Cousins in Europe or Ofrei in the USA.

They may also contain a DG2813 which are a little bit cheaper but 1mm thicker - either of these could be used in this watch with the correct movement holder.

no one have mentioned it yet, but just to be sure it's a fake tourbillon, which is basically the balance wheel which is exposed, not a tourbillon.

Still, price is fair for that kind of watch, but don't compare with tourbillon at $500 and up please :p

The movement is heavily modified China one. (probably from Seiko if any Power reserve rep history still hold) If it break, you are lost.. but for the price..

yea but with a topic with the word cheap and tourbillon, I got a bit excited. Also, most "newbies" might not know the difference and might worth specifying.

Real tourbillon's go for $500.00 and up. I saw a person selling a "source" list of Fleabay of Tourbillons for $250.00 and other watches that you can brand yourself.

I don't think anyone will expect it to be a working Tourbillon for that $100, but you never know....

If you spend enough time on the net there are places that stock many different kinds of Chinese auto mechanisms - the ones which go into the cheaper $80-$100 level reps

I found a site in the US which sold loads of ones including this type a year or so ago when trying to repair a very cheap but much loved Lange "Tourbillon", but annoyingly can't find the link now again.

Here's another one though.
