If a Panerai expert were to guess -
what percentage would you say of Pam watches have an automatic movement?
It seems almost all I have looked at are 6497 Manual Wind.
Would it be a safe bet to assume that 90-95% of Pam's are manual wind ?
Secondly, random question. I am (fairly) new to the brand....
If you spell PANerai, how does one come up with the M for the abbreviated term Pam ?
Thanks in advance folks !

in the rep universe most of the easier to rep models have a hand wind movement.... (as a generalisation) especially when it comes to the newer models which have the in house movement....

the main thing about pams in general is that they use an ETA base then mod it before it goes into their own cases etc....

One of the main reasons why a 4000 usd watch makes me cry (when i know its got a sub 4k movmt inside)

If you are talking about quantity of replica models, it is very easy

There are 144 models of PAM replicas
79 are Automatic- 54,86&
64 are Manual - 44,45%
1 is a false tourbillon - 0,69%

But in quantity of watches, people like more the manual, therefore you will find more quantity of Manual, but never a 90-95%
The quantity of automatics is now increasing because Panerai introduces more Automatics every year.

To have these data read the PAM REVIEW-GUIDE

As I have plenty of watches by now, I dont care anymore if Automatic or Manual as I'm changing daily and then I have to wind it anyway. If you have planned to buy only one watch and wear it every day I suggest to buy an automatic.
