I noticed when adjusting the timekeeping on a 21j Sub that the rotor only winds the movement in one direction it spins freely the other way, I remember from when I was in the jewellery trade that on old watches they wound in both directions, so does that mean it has only has half the reserve?

if correct has anyone any tips on what I could do with my hand to increase the amount of winding the watch gets?

21j movements only wind the rotor in one direction, 2836 and the clone movements wind in both and I believe 7750's only wind one direction as well. It still has the same power reserve, so as long as you are wearing it for most of the day it will last for a good long time.
