Today when I pulled the crown out on my PAM 113 Rep the movement stopped. When I set the time and pushed it back in it ran okay. It's still running and keeping good time several hours later.Up until now it has worked perfect.Any idea why it did this?Anybody else have this happen to them? Thanks for any help you can give me.

I don't own anything with this movement, but I'd bet it's exactly
as it should be.
If you have the crown pulled out, or "hacked," there should not be any movement from the movement. Logically, it would be "mechanical disaster" to be able to adjust
gears while the mechanical "engine" is still engaged. Think of a car clutch.
Same thing.

Cheers!

113 should not have a hack mechanism, it runs on an asian 6497 movement.

But as long as it works should be ok my friend.

Should we expect that Asian manual wind movements won't have the hack feature?

I have autos that hack and autos that don't hack. It's nice but I can live without it.

This is kinda threadjacking, isn't it

sorry to tommyboy... For all I know about 6497 movements, they do not hack.

I do not understand the part about the threadjacking, please elaborate.

My question about the 6497 hack mechanism is my own, not the OPs, so by asking it I'm "hijacking" his thread. Doing this can be seen as rude. I don't wish to be rude :)

OK. No hack, but as I mentioned I don't own one.
Thanks for speaking up and answering this!

Is the watch still doing this, OPG?

This is definitely NOT expected behavior for any non-modified 6497 movement, be it Swiss or Asian.

Don't know if it's still doing that.I have not had to reset it yet because its very accurate. If it does it again I will let everyone know.I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's ok.I don't think my watchmaker would work on it.

UPDATE! Pulled out the crown and set my PAM 113 today. It's working normal.Maybe I was mistaken about the movement stopping last time.Half asleep? This thing is super accurate. It gained about 30 secs in 22 days.
