Asian 2836 vs 2836-2

Hello, I'm looking at getting a Seamaster, and the movement is described as

"Asian 2836 automatic movement decorated to Omega 8800"

I can see everywhere that Asian 2836-2 has a 28800 beat, but can't seem to find anything on the 2836, or the difference between the two (if any).

Can someone explain please?

Ah OK thanks. So the 2836-1 and 2836-2 are revisions of the 2836. Gotcha.

It says the ETA 2836 is a 28800, which is good, but doesn't mention the Asian clone.

Can I assume that this is the same?

The clone should have a beat rate of 28800.

Also something to note is that most new genuine omegas have coaxial escapements that run at 25200. So I wouldn't split hairs about the movement in that rep.

I have several 2836-2 movements...they’re all 28800.
