If there is demand for it then the makers will. If not, then no.

It's beautiful, unfortunately it falls in that price category where reppers usually pass 9/10 times. It's in the same class and the Fredirique Constant Slimline Moonphease when it's affordable enough for "The Common Man" and doesn't a large enough market. Regardless, it looks beautiful. I love the wavy moonphase, and the detail of the moon. Top notch!

Would love to have it as my dress watch as well.. so elegant and sleek! That's a hard wish to be granted anyway.

I have been looking at these pretty regularly the last few months. The Gold model MSRP is 29k. I found a genuine dealer who can source for about 20k brand new full set with warranty. The SS with black dial for 11k.
I was hoping to find a used one but I have not seen a gold version in the used market.
I would guess these will take a pretty good depreciation hit if bought new.
Would be nice if they did a rep to see how much wear it might get.

I believe OP means to ask if Arnold & Son moonphase is reppable given that Christopher Ward has made a similar watch using a movement available to the rep factories

Correct me if I am wrong, Arnold as in John Arnold, the legendary watchmaker who alongside Abraham Louis Breguet invented the first tourbillon??
If this is true, then this is blue blood horology, why dont many people talk about Arnold & Son? I mean we talk about Lange & Sohn for ***** sake.
We should start a thread on Arnold & Son.

I would buy the moon phase rep in a second! Although I like the version that shows the northern and Southern Hemisphere moon.

Do we realise how many eta based moonphases are out there which can be used as donor watches for cracking high end reps?
Let's say for example a fredrique constant slimline moonphase watch is very close to a jlc master thinline moonphase.
I have already seen beautifully jlc moonphases on td sites, but as always moonphase is basically a 24 hr counter.

So can we not use an used fredrique constant watch as donor and build a cracking jlc? Of course it might be easier said than done, there can be measurement differences etc. but it's a noble thought!

Photos for comparison.

I mean it's the same bloody watch lookwise.

And I can almost guaranty that no matter what moonphase layout you're looking for we already have eta based movements for that.
I hope to see some builds now.

Sincerely,
Saby

It doesn't really matter about the movement so much. It is a question of the rep factory producing a module for the complications.
They are starting to do more and more with modules , which I applaud and support.
They would be better using 2892 as it is thinner movement in the first place and even with a copied DD chrono module , would produce an auto chrono as thin as the Rolex 4130 (6.5mm)
Module design and construction is getting easier all the time.
I think we have cases and dials pretty much as right as they need to be. The work needed now more than anything is movements and modules

Problem with using this, as you're looking from 1,300-2,300k as a donor movement. But once they start playing with the 2892, I think we will see a proper moonphase.
