I picked up this up a few years ago from a TD. At the time, platinum coating on inserts was "a thing" so I tried to remove a perfectly good one, and smashed it whilst removing the bezel itself.
I sent if off to Ado to have the bezel replaced and have it serviced and waterproofed when it was there with the intention of replacing the insert. It never happened, I moved on and the watch was forgotten about. I have no proof of this service but obviously it isn't priced in anyway. All I can say if that when you start winding it you will know it's been serviced and if you have the skills to remove the case back you certainly will. It has been sat in a watch box for a while so I wouldn't like to guarantee WR but it certainly passed at the time of service and Timpson's will test it for a fiver.
Now the issues:
1. The insert is aftermarket - one the cheapies from ebay. I have tried to picture it, but it also sits just above the bezel itself rather than being flush. It's minor, but it is definitely there. Finally, the lume pip is missing. Again, it was crap I tried to remove and replace it but just moved on without completing the job.
2. The bezel is stiff. It turns well, lines up and there is zero play but it does take a little effort to turn it. Personally, I prefer I nice tactile, firm bezel with a good click but any potential buyer should know.
3. The watch is a few years old, is being sold very cheaply so there are some marks to the bracelet and caseback - they are pictured so please take a look.
Now the good:
1. I've been around a while and my reviews speak themselves. I wish I had the email but I can assure you this is a serviced, pressure tested clone A2824.
2. The print on the back has held up well with minimal fading - a well known issue.
3. It comes with a oyster flex style black rubber strap - never used.
4. I am 99% sure all the links are there, 5 on the front, 5 on the back. The glidelock works as it should and adds a fair amount of length if you need it.
5. The rehaut crown looks perfect to me.
All in all, a weird one. If you have skills to remove and replace that insert with something decent you have a total bargain, some might be able to live with it as is for the price or it may even be good for parts - but I think more can be done with it than that. Just needs some skills I don't have!
Finally, if any suspects this isn't an ARF please feel to correct me. The clasp code is Z6Y which I believe is the ARF V2 in 904 ss but any help is appreciated.
