Hi friends
I bought 3 watches with this movement (2 Pam212 and 1 Daylight), and all have the same problem, the chrono.
When I stop it and push the button to put in 0, it stops between 12 and 1 position, not the same position always....it is thiferent each time and never in 0.
Im very angry with this movement, wish my supplyer send me other 3 because they are new, but im not very sure that all has the same problem....wish not.
regards

PD:sorry for my horrible English

Sorry to hear about the misfortunes. Is this the older Valjoux or the newer version? I have heard a looooot of complaints about the older ones, newer seem to be doing ok...as far as I've read...

:D :D I have the 196 and 212 as well. They both work great. Chronos reset and both keep good time. I am sorry to hear about your problems. :(

They all need servicing. My 7750 is off soon, and I'm not the type to get watches serviced or modded beyond a strap change. :D

bodhy786: The problem with replicas is that they don't have any need to honour warranties, so the movements are sold unserviced. This isn't really a problem apart from in the 7750s, which means that pretty much any asian 7750 that is going to get a lot of use should be serviced. Apparently, a serviced asian 7750@28 is as good as a serviced ETA/Valjoux.

Indeed. Unfortunately I have one of those attitudes of quantity over quality sometimes. For example like buying an ETA watch instead of having the 7750 serviced.....its cool....but will catch up with you and ruin your collection.

My Breitling is over a year old, unserviced old 7750 and it runs fine...within the COSC standards. The chrono has an occasional reset problem but other than that it's perfect.

I didn't pay premium for the watch though. It was a preowned, already proven reliable rep from a fellow member.

$300 for an Asian 7750-powered watch is way too much (imho). I know it's not cheap to produce an automatic chronograph watch (even for the rep factories). $300 isn't the end of the world for most of us... but because it's always a crap shoot for the customer it's STILL way too much money involved.

I'd always go for the Venus version if possible... although it's not 100% chronograph watch (according to purists). Too bad it doesn't have date. Quartz chronos aren't bad alternatives, either... especially for reps of lower end brands like TAG.

I have 3 in 7750: PAM 196 from 3 years ago, BREITLING CHRONOAVENGER from 2 years ago and IWC GST 6 months old, and all them work great. Can't say there is the smallest problem with them, and I never serviced.

This is a message from Trusty posted at RWG

"Dear friends,

There is really nothing bad about the Asian 7750 movement. Many people who
buy them do not know how to operate them properly and in the end when the
watch decides to crank out, they blame on us for not checking watch, watch
was defective from start..blah blah blah. =P

Just follow these simple rules and your Asia 7750 (whether NEW or OLD)
movement will always be there for you.

Rule 1: If you ever depress the pusher to start Chrono, always let it run
for at least 15 seconds before you depress same pusher to stop it.

Rule 2: Do not depress the pusher for reset if you did not even start the
chrono

Rule 3: Do not depress the pusher for reset if the Chrono is running. You
should only do that after you have depress the pusher to STOP the chrono
first..then you proceed to reset it

Rule 4: If you need to change DATE , please adjust time to 4:30 before you
adjust the date. Pull the screw crown out lightly twice..adjust time to 4:30
and then push it back lightly once and adjust the DATE. If not, the gears
will TANGO and your movement will start to feel cranky

Rule 5: Do not meddle with the internals if you are not ZIGGY... It needs an
expert to get those internals out...

Well... Follow the 5 commandments"

Additional comment from Ziggy was to only reset the Chrono when it is between 10 & 2 on the dial.

... apart from the ones delivered dry.

The movement itself is bomb-proof as long as it's been prepared with all the right oils and stuff. It's as good as the ETA/Valjoux 7750[1], but a lot of them are delivered dry.

I am prepared to believe that there are some out there that arrive in perfect condition and no-one ever mentions thyem because they just run and run without problems, but I'm putting my money where my mouth is and paying for a service on mine. That's the price of a decent watch I'm willing to invest in making my 7750 bomb-proof.

Unfortunately, only select watches feature the new version, and I'm afraid mine doesn't. I will likely have mine sent to Ziggy, but he is out of action until September, and who knows what the wait will be like when he gets back an begins to tackle that backlog. So, Im guessing my navi will be running for about 6 months without being touched.

Same problem with cheapie Croton watch

I had this same problem with a cheap croton watch and I just followed the chronograph reset instructions and got it realligned. They had me pull the crown out to the 2nd position and then press the A button to reset to zero. Once it had been zeroed reset the time and return the crown to the normal position. Then press B button to check that the chronograph hands are reset to the zero position. I don't know if this will work with your movement but maybe give it a try.

I have used that method on a quartz chrono, but on the 7750 what happens is that the second hand slips on the shaft. The only way to fix is to open the watch and manually reset the hand. Gluing the second hand on to the shaft will permanently fix this issue. Im not sure how you would ever get it off to service the movement however. Ziggy wasn't clear on what type of glue or a method of application, so if anyone could shed some light, feel free!

Andreww, thanks specially to you for this instructions....but I have one question to all:
Dont you think is too much history this use instruntions for a watch? A crono should be used mabe 7 seconds and no minimum 15!! I think this is not a good machinery, are to much things we cant do with this crono and is a watch......

Chronos in an automatic movement is a complicated piece of machinery. The mechanisms are decent, but should be serviced. After service, you can ignore most of those precautions. With no service, you should play it safe, as that is the part of the mechanism that will fail first.

And one more extrañe problem....one of the 3 watches with 7750 always stops in 7:50.....if I start the crono it runs again, rare rare rare......
I have a lot of replica Pam, and all perfect, but wich use 7750 all bad.
Its only my experience, but 3 watches bad.....it makes me decide not to buy more with asian 7750, I think is a bad movement.
regards and thanks

I had a Chrono Avenger with Asian 7750 from River over a year ago. I gave it to a my best mate 9 months ago as a present. He wears it every day but does not play with the chronograph part very often. It is still going strong and keeps perfect time.
