Are/Were there any Colt Auto reps?

Been looking at Breitling with a different eye lately...was never a fan but the COLT Auto is really starting to grow on me.

Are there any reps of Colts? I checked around some of the usual dealers and don't see any. I'm considering buying a gen, maybe an older one, but wouldn't mind test driving a rep to see if it is love or just infatuation.

Thanks for any insight!!

That looks fairly different to the gen. Unless the gen on Breitling's website is a newer version.

Chronos are different. So are the hour markers around the date box and there are Arabic numbers for 5, 10 and 20 on the bezel.

Still a pretty good-looking watch though. One I'm considering for something to just knock around in. I personally have nothing against quartz and quite like the accuracy and lack of maintenance/worry involved.

Also, it has a Yachymeter in the place of the usual Tachymeter...

I was ready to pull the trigger, but that's a too big flaw for me. And it seems it's not available right now.
Hope to see a fixed version soon.

I agree on the advantages of quartz for chrono watches. This one looks overall great for the price. Much better than Faux-chronos...

You know, I saw that but I thought it was just the picture. Didn't think they could make such a major screw-up.

I believe the writing on the dial is also different, but again, could just be the version.

Yeah, I agree that's a pretty major flaw. Too bad. :(

Wonder if they will fix it. For some reason, I'm not holding my breath. Guess it depends on the demand and certainly it seems that many people on these rep forums don't much care for quartz watches.

I just traded an Evo Chrono for a Colt Chrono. Both were quartz. I like the smaller size of thr Colt for my girlyman wrist.

I find myself aquiring more and more quartz pieces. It's so much easier to rotate the collection. I had a couple pretty nice autos that I never wore because it's a hassle to restart them and I am too cheap to buy a decent multi-watch winder. I'd much rather throw in a new battery every couple years vs. servicing. I guess I'm just lazy...and cheap.

Besides, outside this community (and a few others), most people don't know or care about auto vs. quartz.

If there were more decent rep quartz available, I would buy more often.
It's true that auto and manual winding are the big part, and it makes sense, as so are the Haute Joaillerie gens.
It seems you're not taken seriously when speaking about quartz (I had this feeling recently).
But again, I prefer quartz to an Asian 21J with dummy pushers.

I have only one Quartz rep, a TAG SLR. Far from the gen, but a really nice piece as a watch.
The ratio is completely different for my gens : most are quartz.

BTW, being "cheap" is not a flaw... You can build a nice collection with cheap watches.
For me, the flaw is to buy an ugly expensive (worese, overpriced) rep...

As for watchwinders, you have cheap (good enough) on the bay for less than 100 dollars for 4 to 6 watches.

Didn't you read the thread showing a "made in Nitzgerland" rep ?
On cheaper reps, spelling mistakes are really frequent... Never buy without having seen pics of all faces.
