Hey Guys,

I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with Aquaracer Chrono Quartz called Grande Date I guess in gen world. Apparently it has Ronda 5040 movt, same as oem. The reason why I am, looking at Tag quartz is because I own a gen Formula 1 Chrono Tag from the late 90's. It quartz, and it has been awesome watch to me. I had zero problems in 19 years I own it, and still wear it daily on/off. I got tired of it just looking at its 36mm dial, but watch has been the best ever perfectly working. Besides changing batteries there was never anything wrong with it.
I dont expect to get same quality with chinese clone, but swiss quartz chrono should be acurate enough, and case quality and dial seems to be in hand with gen Tag, at least in pictures and video on puretime.

Anyone, thoughts ?

Thanks.

Good rep i think,I'm considering getting one as it should be very reliable-can't go far wrong with the price-there are some threads featuring it if you use search.

Nobody?
Is it a bad rep?
It´s an underestimated super-rep 1:1 to gen - even the movement is the same including spinning 1/10 seconds subdial at 6 which after 1 minute turns into a 12 hour counter for the stopwatch. Both the main seconds hand and the subdial at 3 (running seconds) tick. Good lume and solid unidirectional bezel function. Well protected dial with the high bumpers and a well readable "grande date". Gaskets on the screw-in-crown and the chronopushers. Available in white or black.

How is the bracelet, is it same superb quality as the watch ?

You need patience, pin removal tool and pliers to resize it, I just had mine several days on a NATO strap. Give it a good baby oil bath and once it´s sized it works very well and has a solid feel to it, clasp mechanism included.

I highly recommend this watch, and I like the chrono Ronda quartz. It is very accurate rep, very solid and very heavy. Bracelet and clasp is very solid, very good quality. Movement is accurate to gen (Ronda swiss parts 6 jewels), but you can buy swiss made 13 jewels movement for 70-80 bucks in the future, get it installed it would be 1:1, however I dont see why to do it, because watch is very accurate +1 sec. a day, fully functional chrono, you can play with chrono function several times a day without worry of breaking aka (A7750).

I would like to see the gen in person, just to compare, bezel, crystal, bracelet.

The pearl is a tell. It's easily distinguishable from the gen...wonder if there's a way to replace it..

It's a really fantastic watch, mostly unknown since a lot of enthusiasts avoid quartz. I'm not exactly a fan of quartz either. It's accurate, reliable, and has a chrono that doesn't fail if you look at it funny, so it's a keeper.

Looking at eBay these really do look like super reps, has anyone confirmed if the movement is actually Swiss?

I have this watch since July 2015 . It is very accurate rep. The dial is perfectly accrate and the rest minus the pearl is 1:1. Pearl would be so easy to update i cannot understand why it is so hard for maker since the rest of the watch is spot on. Movement is 5040B Ronda swiss parts (assembled in asia) 6 jewels. Movement can be purchased for about $35 locally, or Swiss 13 jewels for $60-$70.

I happen to prefer quartz. However, there is a caveat, it needs to be in a watch that was offered in quartz by the gen manufacturer. The reason I didn't look too hard at this watch was the size; it is a bit bigger than I normally purchase.
